BIDI’A POLICE Vs SELF ACCLAIMED LOVERS OF THE RASUL
This thread is going to shake whatever table you are on. So if you don’t have open mind don’t read it.
As I always say, I’m not issuing fatwa or anything, I’m just a guy with an opinion from what I learn from my teachers

The following stuff didn’t exist during the time of Rasul or the Caliphs
1. Musabaqah
2. Various fields of knowledge (FIQH,USUL, AQIDAH, MUSTALAHUL HADITH)
3. Compilation of Hadith
4. Wall btw men and women in the mosque
5. Moon and Cresent symbol on the mosque....

6. The dots on ب، ت ث etc in the quran
7. Vowels in the Quran
8. Various fields of Arabic language (Nahwu, sarf, )
By going with popular definition of bid’a as “ANY ACT IN THE RELIGION THAT DIDN’T EXIST DURING THE TIME OF THE RASUL OR THE CALIPHS”, then all the above are bid’a

May be you only know bidi’a from wa’azin kabiru Gombe
, any definition and prohibition of bid’a is from this two hadiths. The underlined phrase says “which is not from it”. Therefore what is rejected is “innovation in matters of the deen that’s not from it”

The mafhumul Mukhalafa (implicit meaning) of the above hadith is that “innovation of anything in the religion that is from it is not rejected”. And this has explained what is “Muhdithat (newly invented)” from the second hadith since two hadiths can’t go contrary to one another.
From here, you can understand that not all inventions are rejected but rather inventions that outside the PRINCIPLES of islam. So when you do Musabaqa,is to promote quran. When you compile hadith, it’s to preserve sunnah, when you use crescent on the mosque is for identification
A Bid’a police will say but the Rasul said “kullu muhdathatun bid’a”. Well Umar RA and Shafi’i are Quraish, so they should understand Arabic and the Rasul more than you, but they accommodated some innovations. Shehu Danfodio in his ihya talked about classification of innovations
All these people mentioned sunfi ka, sunfi ubanka, sunfi malamin ilimi, son Annabi da son Sunnah, but they don’t argue that “ANYTHING THAT IS NOT IN THE QURAN OR HADITH IS BID’A AND HARAM”. So go and learn and stop viewing things only from your/ or your Shiekh’s POV.
Now on Maulud which your guys are terrorising my TL for, every knowledgeable person agrees that it is invented after the Rasul and the caliphs, but for the people that do it,the PRINCIPLE of doing it is to promote the love of Rasul. Love of the Rasul is part of deen so it’s ok
Now one will say Abubakar (RA) and the rest of the sahaba love the Rasul more that us. Yes they do, but they don’t need Maulud in there time to promote the love of Rasul. Same as they didn’t study a field called Aqidah for their Iman or Fiqh and Usul for Ibadah and so on.
Now you that do Maulud, can you accept that the one who doesn’t do it love the Rasul as much you do? He feels that he doesn’t need to do Maulud to show his love for the prophet. Why will you say a muslim “baya son annabi” who appointed you as the judge of masoyan annabi?
Let’s be sincere here, most modern day Maulud is a nuisance, it is has gone away from the principle of its originators. Now because of maulud, you block traffic, you put speakers everywhere at night and disturb the whole neighbourhood. What if there’s a surgeon who needs sleep?
May be you want to rub it on the face of those that hostile to maulud that’s why you people decided to give it much publicity, but two wrongs don’t make it right and you are going against the teachings of the person you claimed you love by being a nuisance to your neighbors
Maulud used to be fun and educative. You learn sirah, listen to ishriniya, diwani and other kasidas. Read dala’ilu, do zikiri, a ci waina da nama a sha zobo, amma yanzu in banda zagin yan izala, da rawa da kida ba abinda kuke yi. Is this the maulud that your grandparents did?
In summary, doing maulud is ok, when you recite Quran, salawat and nashid during maulud you get reward. If you became nuisance to your neighbors, you sinned.
Not doing maulud is ok. Don’t fight the doers. Fighting them will just make them more aggressive and we don’t want that.

PS: I remember one day we cut our trip short in Katsina because our neighbors. We wanted to spend one more day in Katsina but we saw them mounting speakers for their maulud. We packed our bags that day and rushed back to Kano
. Coz we all love our sleep
