Bart Baker is being held against his will and forced to make videos for China: a thread

so bart baker used to be a well-known youtuber who made parodies on popular songs. he had over 10 million subscribers

a few years ago, he stopped gaining traction on his videos and he was losing money. at the same time, he was approached by a chinese company that asked him to come out to china to make videos for them

he flew out to china and even documented the journey called douyin, or TikTok. throughout the video, his family is extremely emotional and say they dont want him to leave. he responds apathetically with "i love china", totally disregarding their feelings

he even filmed his girlfriend crying and when she asked if he could not film it he says "no"

he totally disregards his parents concerns and says "you will love china too" in a vrry robotic way. like hes being forced to say it

theres also this video where its seen as anti american propaganda and it seems really forced

in a lot of his videos for the app its him singing "translations" of chinese songs into english but they all have a common theme of it saying "im chinese and i love china." bart even "made" his own song where he disowns his american roots to say hes forever chinese

all of his videos are forced and really weirdly tied to china. he gets made fun of by the people he works with and his consumers. i think hes stuck in a contract where he has to do this. he doesnt seem happy at all. its all for show. @BartBaker i hope you find a way out
