1/9| Consider a different perspective on this (& note I left home at 18 and rejected even offered fam help not long later):
People generally need social connection (you a probably a few u03c3 low there, me2 but less so) u2013 not NTH but need, or they wilt.

2/9| Constructive non-familial bonds (churches, fraternal ordersu2026) have been declining in membership, effectiveness and prestige for quite a while.
Family has declined a lot as well, especially in size which is important u2013 reduces options for moving around with *some* family.

3/9| People suffer when they have to choose between connectedness and usefulness. Coincidentally, lot of painkillers around.

4/9| $person could say they just donu2019t care, thereu2019ll always be losers that get weeded out.
a) Not sure youu2019d still be within the churchu2019s teachings there (eating iff working presumed a community!)
b) Pareto says vast majority of people will always be < average

5/9| Also, practically: Atomized suffering people who are maladapted in the current evo landscape wonu2019t decide to curl up & die, esp. when sbdy promises them community and u2026 evo terraforming. There will always be people who offer u201ccommunityu201d and a scapegoat for that suffering!
6/9| Itu2019s called politics and suffering people make a great vote/u201cstreet activistu201d bank! u201cLibertyu201d re: just move elsewhere is *really* bad for people being invested in liberty, demographically u2013 itu2019s your (good) immigration point but domestically.
7/9| (I say u201clibertyu201d because the area denial style of industrial decline has been heavily engineered by monetary and regulatory policy. Telling people to organize is u2013 in a way u2013 the reasonable thing to do in that sense!
8/9| They wonu2019t exactly organize for liberty and a lighter touch tho, u201cI am on nobodyu2019s side because nobody is on my sideu201d doesnu2019t have much of a lobby for some strange reason.)
9/9| Not saying that thereu2019s nothing to be done for communal success with mobility. The minyan u2013 & that itu2019s neither one nor 100 men u2013 doesnu2019t come from nothing in Judaism.
10/9| But to implement widely, youu2019re just back at the start: Giant coordination / cultural change problem, pretty much intractable (and inexorable).
11/9| Just considering my last two messages, thatu2019s also a hard sell from the word go: u201cWhy donu2019t you just become diasporic (nomadic?) in the country of your ancestors?u201d Basically culturally normalized permanent u201cx flight | u2200 xu201d for vast swathes.
