The entire road system to access Ekiti State is cut off. IJESHA/Efon Alaaye axis from Osun is inaccessible. Kogi state via Omuo/Ikole is cut off. AKURE/Ikere to Ondo is a complete nightmare. The Otun road to Kwara is a mess, yet @ekitistategov think an airport is a priority?
This is the road @kfayemi takes to his hometown. This Iworoko road out of the state capital and less than 2km from the Government house is a major arterial road connecting the state, yet airports are his priorities? @AO1379
I think Southwest Nigeria is un-enthusiastically blessed with the most rubbish set of governors in the history of the region since 1952. Just all round sad. And these guys supposedly have education. Something is wrong. Make una Dey twitter Dey abuse @MBuhari don’t face them.
By not prioritizing linking a small agrarian state like Ekiti, which originally is a drive of one hour from North to South to neighbouring states, the administration of @kfayemi is denying her of lifeblood to remove the state from aid dependency. We need trade not aid.
Aside from the vast array of dilapidated roads in our state today, the ugly unplanned urbanization driven by a lack of regulatory structure needed by a new state like Ekiti under @kfayemi watch is unflattering and disgraceful. New Estates at NTA road is now a slum on his watch.
Major towns that were once pride of our state, from Ikole to Ifaki can no longer boast of decent township roads. Our state is now reduced to begging internationally as a poster child for a slavish development philosophy rather than a sample of community self help it can be.
While states like Kaduna and Kebbi have developed framework for transiting their states from beggar economies, we continue to glorify the nonsense while importing a brand new era of itinerant absentee leaders that govern by travelling. Seat at home Mr. Man.
Today we like to talk about Education in Ekiti. This state reputedly the “Fountain of Knowledge” with more professors per capita than any other state, today we have a lamenting Governor rather than an acting one.
Even @kfayemi attempts at investing in education is perfunctory. A state with deep issues related to teacher qualification, curriculum appropriateness, school and community responsibility required investment in education beyond awarding contracts to few cronies to mend Builiding
Number one, this level of engagement in education is only worthy of a school Cert Governor not one with PHD from Kings College. I mean, see what @elrufai did to education in Kaduna. There are some schools in Ekiti where the teachers can’t even speak proper Yoruba talk less English
Yet these are English Language teachers. No reforms on school management, nor reforms on community ownership, teacher training and re-training and upgrade of curriculum to ensure these students can be useful to Ekiti state in areas of science, innovation or vocational education
@kfayemi May want to recall that in 2012 before his monumental loss at the Polls, I warned him about Hubris in education when he used 100,000 laptop Procuremrnt to loot our dear state with finesse. Our state continue to suffer the consequence of his greed. http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/articles/ekiti-knows-the-presidents-promise-of-electoral-reform-sounds-hollow.html
There is a right and wrong way to govern a rural state. Elitism and Greed combined, coupled with divisive politics through which he and his acolytes have now introduced the devilish concept of “tokan tokan” to our state lexicon is the wrong way.Written 2011 http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/articles/how-not-to-loot-a-rural-state.html
“governor of Ekiti ( @kfayemi) is making sharing government cheques to ex-political appointees a priority, like it is social security! Half of these prodigal sons who become governors sometimes permanently relocate to Abuja or overseas, becoming governors in absentia!” - 2011
The danger of so called Awo Cap wearing progressives actively and academically looting states and engaging in pure mis-governance is that it breeds cynicism especially in small rural states. The reality is that people look up to you and you dash their hopes. It is wicked.
I mean, how can a Governor of @ekitistategov explain this on state road while he is busy begging @akin_adesina of @AfDB_Group to finance a monumental waste of an airport, built on debt credited to our children’s generation while farmers can’t get their goods to the farm by road?
This is Erio Ekiti. In another week the will be no passage between Osun State and Ado Ekiti. Vehicles coming through that way from Lagos , Ibadan and going to , Kogi State and Abuja and Abuja will not be able to pass.10 hours from Lagos, a journey of three hours. Leadership? Zero
Aramoko Ekiti to Erijiyan is gone. No vehicle can take the road again. That is the road leading to Ikogosi the major tourist destination in the state . Only motorcycles manage to ply the road now. Cars drive into the Bush path competing with poor farming women, where is @kfayemi?
This Ekiti State. We now commission waste truck. An LGA function is now the most deserving of Governor’s attention. When the roads that these trucks will use does not even exist. Where goes Ekiti under this excellency? Excellent Mis-Governance. #OurEkitiUnderFayemi
