speak about it, you’re problematic, a victimizer or a solo stans. And if you tell someone there is no problem, over and over again, they’ll start believing it. Even with evidence pointing to the contrary. The point of this monster thread is to analyze what’s been going on.

jk is exceptionally talented in everything he puts his mind to. so he took on may roles since debut. In his first few years in bts he didn’t just have the most lines, had a center position in most choreographies, was the occasional rapper, he also stood out in many other

he had the most fans, got the most praise, won almost every game in those shows bts does for armys, was the member most people knew about first, he got held up as the gold standard, the ideal, the one you have to beat to prove yourself …

many armys started to grow jealous of him because he got so much praise for being as great as he is. Many started to resent him for taking on so many roles in bts and getting as much attention as he did. They felt that didn’t allow their biases to shine enough

And many saw in him a threat to their biases popularity. But since army has had a policy of condemning overt hate against members, they had to find more subtle ways to express their resentment, to vent their frustrations and find other channels to put him down.

this thread won't address the problem that confirmed jk antis pose. despite them being a problem, they have nothing on the sabotage originating from army itself. bc those have the numbers and an army network that does their bidding. and they are protected by ppl denying it exists

The thread is about explaining how we got here: How a very well loved and extremely popular member of bts doesn’t need antis to tear him down, he has his own fans doing the job for him. Just before they follow it up with a “I miss koo” or a “he’s a baby”.

Many of yall will surely claim you don’t know anyone that hates him or wants to sabotage him. But ofc you don’t. And Ot7 agenda makes sure that anyone who admits to not liking a member will be ostracized.

So if you don’t like someone you have to suppress that dislike or use other channels to let out your frustration. but unlike with other members, a lot of convenient channels present themselves to let your frustration loose and take jk down from that pedestal

Furthermore group dynamics are more complicated than intent of individuals. Ppl influence each other to behave certain ways. And army have developed a hive mind. There’s a reason why yall make the same jokes and talk the same way …

While there are those who go out of their way to drag jk down, and those who will take any opportunity to shade when they can get away with it, there are also unwitting participants. With no ill intent but since they bought into certain ideas, they become pawns

Any special attention jk got was suspiciously side eyed, “is this solo stan behavior?”, “is this fair to the other members?”. Any celebrity that gave a special shout out to Jungkook was either questioned aggressively about their “ot7”-ness, or ready to be cancelled.

Parallel to crippling jk’s support and protection system, they also empower and shield ppl who take jk down his pedestal. Ppl who make fun of him receive an insane amount of positive reinforcement in the form of twitter clout, they get followed and they get cheered on bc of it.

Ppl have gained huge followings just by making dumb jokes about jk. And whenever someone tweets something questionable about jk, and gets called out by his real fans, thousands of armys swarm to their defense and hype them up. Absolutely grotesque.

Another channel of quashing jk is to push certain ideas about who Jungkook is. Notions that make him seem … less. The ideas pushed are that his capacity as an artist is lacking and that his personality is unremarkable.

They popularized the idea that Jungkook is artistically in his infancy and dependent on his “more mature” hyung, who they portray as complete artists. The insidious thing about this move is not just what is said, but how it’s in contrast with the way they portray the others

They also popularized the idea that jk’s every good quality is something he has bts to thank for. In any other circumstance giving someone else credit for your good nature, your abilities, your thoughts or your work would be incredibly rude. But armys made e/o believe it’s cute.

They took his humbleness and his generosity and turned it against him. His refusal to brag or take credit for his work were used as justification to discredit him. and his love for his hyungs and his generous words for them were used as a justification to belittle him.

In fact, the popularity of the idea that Jungkook is everything he is only thanks to his hyungs is explained by how it conveniently solved two problems with one stone: How to deal with a golden boy whose makes ppls job into his hobby? transfer the credit from him to his hyungs.

another way they used jk’s golden boy status to benefit anyone but him, is by using him as a prop to make another member look more desirable. This is done by shippers, where jk is often portrayed worshipping the other, or he is portrayed as a fan boy. And it’s always one sided.

In my opinion that’s why taekookers and jikookers are at e/o throats all the time. When they are fighting who jk is in love with, they are fighting about who is better, jm or th. And that’s why they accuse each other of being jm or th antis respectively.

and then there are those times ppl made fake rumors about jk to promote their biases song. Bc using jk’s popularity and throwing Jungkook under the bus for some epiphany streams is considered fair game.

and when that’s not enough, credit that goes to jk is snatched from him and accredited to someone else. ppl can’t even let him have euphoria to himself without making it about a ship. And let’s not even go into what yall have done to gcfs. It’s embarrassing.

A clever way of manipulating the image the fandom has about who he is, is by jokes. Since everyone loves to be entertained, jokes often get the most clout of all tweets. And if you associate a member with certain attributes again and again, that association will stick.

While ppl use jokes to make the image of most members … more, they use the same techniques to make Jungkook look … less. To cement certain ideas about members they’d take something the members did or said once, fixate on it, shape it to fit a narrative and then blow it up.

e/o loves those little boxes. and while the other members got stuck with attributes such as “intellectual”, “the boss”, “he who doesn’t take shit from anyone”, jk got stuck with attributes such as “embarrassing”, “basic”, “dumb”, “meme”, “clown”, …

here's what happened to ppl who got brainwashed into believing jk is a dumbazz to the point they don’t see him as anything else. Yall want to rethink it next time you claim those jokes aren’t deep. One joke isn’t, but given enough of the same kind they are the mariana trench.

Apart from the notion pushed that jk is less, there’s the notion that he needs less: less praise, less hype, less protection. And that he is privileged and gets coddled by bighit and his hyungs. And that he doesn’t get hate. All fairy tails.

And those ideas paved the way for a lot of shade and a lot of ugliness to go ignored. When they believe he gets coddled enough, It makes them less willing to help. “he doesn’t need our protection”, “why should I give him anything when all he does is take my faves lines.” …

Whenever s/o’s mad about the amount of lines their bias get, the main target is Jungkook. Same thing with screen time, choreography position, likes on a member’s tweet, birthday hashtags, … and the mindset that jk is privileged and doesn’t need protection paved the way.

Countless confirmed jk anti are thriving on this app. Real jk stans have been trying to get them suspended for ages. But when one of those antis also targeted anothe member they were suspended the next day. Bc yall ignored them until it was s/o you think needs the protection

Hate against jk is actively ignored to keep the idea afloat that jk gets no hate. A simple technique and it’s maddening at how effective is.

whenever jk released music or a gcf he made for us, instead of trending a hashtag, which is standard for army to do, armys took jk’s gift for granted. And treated it with no more regard than a bangtanbmb. the mindset is that from jk you can take and don’t need to give back.

The idea that jk is privileged and that he has no haters, together with the image army gave jk of being “accessible”, allowed for a new trend to establish itself: jk became the butt of all jokes. and the narratives they spun about his personality made him premium joke material.

Anyone who objects to the jokes is accused of being too sensitive. And the more common and popular the jokes got, the more acceptable they got and the more ppl made them just to get some of that twitter clout for themselves. “It’s not deep, everyone makes these kinds of jokes”.

In many cases it’s hard to distinguish armys from antis when it comes to jokes about jk, because the jokes look eerily similar. Some of the tweets below are from confirmed antis and some are from armys. Which is which?

let’s be real, jk is the very opposite of a brat and even if he was one, yall are in no position to call him a brat or lil shit. most of yall don't have the age, and none of yall have the familiarity. yet here we are. paving the way for antis to call him that

And then there are the jokes that cross the line. And yall only dare to make them about jk bc he’s an easy target. In a way you have dehumanized him. You see him more as your plaything than a person with feelings, who can be hurt and humiliated by your jokes.

euphoria and begin are by far the most clowned choreographies. And for no other reason than that they are by jk. even though any choreography has the potential to be clowned if you really want to go there, yall only ever go there with jk’s songs and choreos.

nobody would appreciate people clowning you for the way you look. It’s considered a dick move. but it’s when it’s Jungkook, yall know no shame. everything goes.

and then there are the disgusting, disrespectful edits yall pretend don’t exist. I even have the recipes for some that are too disturbing to include here.

Posts about how yall would beat up s/o for money occasionally gain a lot of traffic. But with no member do you cross the line as much as with jk. One of the things that upsets jk stans the most about this, is that we know that many of yall mean it. And are hiding it behind a joke

and one cant deny that those “jk is yt” jokes are just another way of making him seem “less stan worthy”, especially since the ppl who get the biggest kick out of those jokes are often yts themselves and would go on a riot if that same joke were made about s/o else in bts

I have only addressed a small portion of what’s been going on. One of the most important points to understand in all this, is that it all correlates. One paves the way for the other. One gives the other breeding ground. The other feeds the next. …

the herd mentlity, pushing ideas that disable jk stans, empowering ppl who drag jk down, favoring notions that make jk seem less, manipulating his image, the disrespectful jokes, … it’s connected. And yall have part in it. And to tackle one problem, you have to tackle them all.

The disabling of jk stans was successful. Although jk is as popular as ever, there are basically no big jk stans left that prioritize him and protect him. many of the big jk stan accounts still around participate in many of the trends that undermine him indirectly or directly.

Some of you might look at some of the recipes and think “well that’s not even that bad”. And yk what, maybe yr. But see it from our perspective. See it in context. And see it in the ocean of millions of similar posts all stacking up. and you’ll see what we do: a big ugly mess.

Every time you see jk stans getting mad at your jokes, edits or posts, remember that we have all the reason in the world to be upset, or even to be sensitive. Bc we know for a fact that many of you use them as an outlet to shade and mock him without negative consequences.

Staning is supposed to be a fun and enriching experience. But for many jk stans it’s anything but. by fostering a toxic environment, invalidating our feelings, ridiculing our complaints, making many feel bad about staning jk and guilty for standing up for him and worst of all,

by tearing down our idol, this fandom has given many jk stans such an unpleasant time, that many have left. And for those who remain, it’s difficult. And that’s something I have a hard time forgiving yall.

Now I know I’ll get a lot of ppl assuming I'm a victimizing solo stan, and therefore one of the "bad guys" and will make that the reason to disregard anything in this thread. But who I am is irrelevant if what I’m saying is true. And it is true.

And if ot7ness is a prerequisite to having rights, I have earned those rights by having +3 years of ot7ness in my pocket. I was the real deal. Only recently have I shifted all my attention to Jungkook. I'm prioritizing him, and basically compensating for what yall arent doing.

But all the views here, were the same ones I held when I supported all bts equally and fairly. I held up my end of the bargain, but yall didn’t. And while I’m not actively supporting your bias anymore, i'm not harming them either which makes me the better ot7 than most of yall

I hope that one day in the future, I’ll look back on this thread and it’ll think “thank god those times are over”. But for that to happen there needs to be change. And acknowledging there is a problem is the first step to change.
