...my friend and I, in our obviously infinite and not at all swayed by nostalgia wisdom, decided we did need the fancy Tamagotchis after all, so I& #39;m starting this thread to document our adventures in digital childcare or something. Feel free to mute if this isn& #39;t your thing, haha
All of the basic tamagotchi stuff you remember is here, including the fact that it does need two AAA batteries (why) and that it only has three buttons which I am still too dumb to operate despite having a whole chain blob of digital pets back in the day
The selling point for these seems to be connecting them together and taking your tamagotchis to the in-game town so they can play together and get married and make babies, I guess? None of these reasons are why we got ours, but I guess we& #39;re gonna see all of it!!
My tamagotchi seems to be fairly chill and undemanding so far. My friend reset hers because she got a monster baby that wouldn& #39;t stop pooping every other minute. So, the standard tamagotchi experience

It evolved again, to this tamagotchi called Mettotchi. You don& #39;t actually get to name them in game as far as I can tell, so I& #39;ve just been calling him Butt Jr. When he evolved last time I got access to a whole new set of game options that I haven& #39;t fully explored yet
This version of tamagotchi is weirdly esoteric bc idk who the actual audience is AT ALL. I don& #39;t see 2010s kids being into it when the Switch exists, and it& #39;s too expensive to be an impulse purchase for nostalgic adults. But I& #39;ve wanted one ever since I saw the Japanese ones
Maybe the market for it is better there which is why it took so many years for it to come here. Maybe the market here is weird tamagotchi die-hards who love things that are overly cute and obnoxious. WHO KNOWS. I took Butt Jr. to the game& #39;s park, though, and it was good
He met a dinosaur tamagotchi who told a story about how when he tried to blow out the candles on his birthday cake, he actually breathed fire on them instead and made them explode. Then he said he made it all up. This is pretty accurate to my experience in grade school, lol
WELP because I didn& #39;t practice "bring your tamagotchi to work" levels of care, I got Gozarutchi which is the one you get if you fuck up your tamagotchi care too much. In older versions of the game it took more time for them to evolve, but this one is less forgiving, I guess
This one hates all the food I have and cries when I try to play with him. My friend reminded me there& #39;s an app that goes with this, so let& #39;s see if I can find someone for the sad ninja man to marry... I GUESS??? what even is this game
The matchmaking app is basically tamagotchi speed dating and everyone else has these amazing multi-generation tamagotchis, so no one will pick mine because it& #39;s the shittiest one, lmao. I& #39;ve failed my son so much
Omg so much has happened in the last 5 minutes. Butt Jr. found a match, and then they had a baby and now I have the baby and Butt Jr. is helping me take care of it (probably because I did such a shit job with him). He is a better parent than me.
oh no I found the online community for these by accident and it& #39;s full of custom content you can download to your tamagotchi. rip the rest of my life
My newest tamagotchi grew up and got married to some kind of duck prince after three guys wanted to marry her, lol. Now that I& #39;m on 3rd gen I can have my Tamagotchis get married to the special witch/vampire characters in my version to get fangs and bat wings

Both of them evolved and both of them still have the damn bonnet. I hate it, but it& #39;s been in my Tamagotchi family for three generations now. Pretty sure it& #39;s some kind of cursed artifact and if I get it again on gen 4 I& #39;m restarting my whole game LOL

Ok... Well... The cursed bonnet is finally gone from my tamagotchi family, but 7th generation baby is literally a demon, so
His adult form looks almost identical to his mom but with the horns and bat wings!! So cute (finally). Now I gotta think about what I want for next gen, haha.

I think I& #39;m probably the only person on the planet who has a custom made coffin for their Tamagotchi, but that& #39;s only because I have an amazing friend who knew my Tamagotchi needed its own coffin, obviously

Random midnight tamagotchi post, just because I came back to them recently after letting them take a nap for awhile. It& #39;s cute that they tell each other congrats at their own wedding, lol
