1/ “Have any other countries done #MMT (or used MMT) before to pay for social programs?"

Here is a concise response (inspired by this FB post: https://www.facebook.com/groups/MMTforRP/permalink/2349663635347227?sfns=mo) where the question is reframed, instead of answering the original directly – which makes no sense.

2/ "I’m not sure what you mean. #MMT isn’t anything but an accurate view of how our – and every – economy actually and ALREADY works. Every other industrialized nation chooses to use their economies (with full knowledge MMT) to provide their citizens with single payer healthcare.

3/ The United States, unfortunately, chooses to use their economy for endless war and tax breaks for millionaires. But most importantly, they use it to *withhold* what our citizens so desperately need.

4/ For example, according to #MMT economists, providing #MedicareForAll provides many more benefits to our economy than NOT providing Medicare For All. https://twitter.com/activistmmt/status/1183054023412375552?s=21

5/ So we don’t need a new economy, we need new elected officials who understand how our already-existing economy actually works, and will use it for the people and stand against those who refuse to.
