I thought I loved “Honey” so much already, but then @biggustandyou showed me this amazing podcast about @robynkonichiwa song creating/producing process...
And now it’s like there’s a whole new song there, also discovered (super late) the demo Lena Dunham used in Girls for the last season...
If you listened to the podcast, of course you will remember that Casio synthesizer Robyn mentions in the begining as the way in to Honey’s melody
And how Honey didn’t end up sounding as the final version that was released (except for a beat that it’s similar to the Casio synthesizer)
In this live version of Honey, @robynkonichiwa use the beat described in the very early demos she recorded.
@lenadunham asked Robyn for music she could use in the last season of Girls. Robyn immediately sent this (ha!)
I posted this one before, but somebody 💖 got a version of the Girls without dialogues from the TV show.
After that she went to collaborate with Joseph Mount (part of Metronomy) and Klas Åhlund, they stripped the early recorded demo and the final version of Honey started to take form.
“I think that’s what dance music it’s about, it’s about putting you in a place where you’re in your body dancing without thinking about when it’s gonna end, that it’s more like about the moment and how it makes you feel.” - Robyn
Robyn describes the intention of Honey is “really good” and a healing song.
Anyway, I just wanted to finish this thread. #BuyHoneyOniTunes
