#Rams Jet motion to the left to start the game. Ball is snapped watch Robert Woods peel out to the right. Jessie Bates over-pursues on a half-hearted blitz and it allows Woods to get out in the open and do his thing. Sam Hubbard isn’t catching him...Great opening play
#Rams go with the jet motion again on the very next play and hand it off to Todd Gurley. The Bengals don’t really bite on it and Gurley gets a minimal gain. Could Gurley have bounced this out with Tony McRae committing to the middle of the field? Maybe. Good defense regardless.
This next play here is unfortunately the one where Cooks gets hurt. Goff is empty set, Gurley with a jet motion and Goff with no hesitation is going to fake it to Gurley & then deliver a dart to Cooks that needs to he caught. Bates makes a nice hit unfortunately it injures Cooks
So the Bengals have Tony McRae on Kupp here. Goff out of the gun sees Kupp destroy him with a pivot route and places this ball perfectly leading Kupp back into the field of play instead of out of bounds which allows Kupp to do the rest. A true YAC monster.
This is 2nd and 16. Jared out of the shotgun finds a wide open Kupp. Clean pocket. Kupp rips through the zone and of course it’s #29 trailing him yet again. Kupp looks a lot faster than last year. He’s clearly found a second gear.
This wasn’t a bad call on first and goal. Woods with the jet motion and the #Rams probably should have handed it off to him. However, a rollout off the PA for Goff. It’s not a bad play it’s just well defended by William Jackson, Jessie Bates and Shawn Williams.
Fantastic job by Troy Hill here reading and reacting to the quick slant over the middle here. He’s just playing with so much confidence right now
Say what you will about the jet motion but look at how convinced the linebackers are here that Reynolds is getting this ball. Furthermore, look at the misdirection to Henderson. Darrell makes Sam Hubbard miss the arm tackle and he gets a healthy gain on this. Great run by 27.
They left Cooper Kupp uncovered. No crazy route, no crazy release and no crazy throw. Kupp was not covered.
This audible is fantastic. Goff/McVay can see the #Bengals lack of communication so they make it even harder on them. They break out of the I formation and motion the backfield out wide. This allows them to isolate Reynolds on rookie LB Pratt and as you see...It gets the #Rams 6.
It’s nice to be able to give Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers a breather but it can also lead to this. Donald will split a double team more than half the time. Tanzel Smart? No. Fox is bottled up as well which allows Joe Mixon the gaping hole up the middle of the field.
This is Samson Ebukam’s best rep. I’m just confused how you don’t throw a flag on this play...
So much wrong with this play you just knew it was a touchdown. #Rams not on the same page, multiple motions and a player entirely out of position leads to a wide open touchdown.
This play design was awesome. BW Webb gets absolutely fooled and loses his footing. Kupp shows off the jets and punches this into the endzone.
Samson Ebukam with a nice job of fighting through the hold and making the play on Mixon here.
Look at the quickness of @OgboOkoronkwo on this snap... Alex Redmond had no chance.
