It's the last day of #AceAwarenessWeek & I wanted to talk a bit abt the ace rep in #EightKinkyNights (out 12/3)

I'm currently #amediting & just finished honing a scene where the gray ace MC & the stone MC each talk abt the specific challenges of negotiating sex for them.

I'm demigray ace & stone, both of these POVs are ownvoices. I really enjoyed writing this pair & showing how they navigate a rship that's sometimes sexual, esp as a central aspect of the book is both MCs working on honoring their own needs, desires, boundaries & consent.
CW sex

It's rare to find ace spec rep where the ace spec MC has a v active sexual history that's rather complicated & includes sex that was technically consented to but not actually wanted, where the arc of the story is about honoring your own consent more deeply.

It took me a long time to reconcile my own demigray aceness w/my own complex sexual history, erotica writing & kink & sex education work, & I wanted to write an MC who was grappling w/those same things & with the reality of reworking sexual boundaries in those contexts.
CW sex

I'm hoping this rep helps other ace spec folks see themselves on the page & esp folks who may have been told that they can't be ace spec because they've been too sexually active/are assumed to be too into or comfortable with sex. Those messages made things v hard for me.

Eight Kinky Nights is complex & it grapples with these things deeply & openly. I need an abundance of stories that do that, & hope mine can be one of many that include these kinds of ace spec representation.
Right now, I can recommend these two contemporary romances as ones that center ace spec MCs who have been substantially sexually active. These books mean a lot to me & I'm very glad they exist.

-That Kind of Guy by Talia Hibbert (m/f)
-Thrown Off Track by Tamsen Parker (m/m)
So, "full length" is a bad way to phrase this. All fiction is "full length" for it's size. I apologize for the size queen implications. I deeply love short stories & novelettes & novellas & will keep writing them.

What I intended to say was that this is a novel.
