Donald Trump inspired a new HBO show about a ‘demagogic populist': David Simon

The writer of this article is a mess and David Simon is a mess.

"Two years before, a rendition of Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar,” performed in Manhattan, stoked controversy when it portrayed the Greek emperor as Trump."

Julius Caesar - Greek emperor

"A forthcoming new HBO (T) show from television writer and producer David Simon also counts Donald Trump as its inspiration — and not in a favorable light."

Really!? An establishment show-biz Jew is writing something that doesn't show Donald Trump in a favorable light!?
Simon, best known for “The Wire” and “Treme,” says in a newly released interview that the show invokes “the idea of a demagogic populist untethered from the old party system who has a simple, fundamental message that appeals in the most basic way."

Hope?
Change?
Hope & Change?
"An adaptation of “The Plot Against America,” a work of alternative history by the late Philip Roth, the show is set to depict the emergence of a proto-fascist America after the election of aviator and isolationist Charles Lindbergh."

@Steve_Sailer bait right here.
Oh, no! America could have been led by a Medal of Honor winning genius hero who was an amazing problem-solver and the only American civilian pilot to fly combat missions & shoot down enemy Japanese aircraft in WWII. The horror!
"“With Lindbergh in that book, it's peace and prosperity,” says Simon. .."

Oh, no! Not peace and prosperity! Anything but that!
"In that book, it's American Jewry, American Jews, that are the worrisome other that he uses as kindling for a dry run at fascism.”"

Of course. And then that evil Trump - I mean Lindbergh - started erecting gas chambers in Iowa while all the white Christian farmers cheered!
"There's a very simple message that Trump used effectively to outrun the party system,” he says. “Now the other is people of color, immigrants, people who are not white, people who are not straight, ..."

Really???
"“So there's a very real reason to do ‘The Plot Against America’ now,” Simon adds."

To make more money?

Guys like Simon always seem to find a reason for why they should get to pretend to be victims despite having far more money & power than the Americans they are slandering.
"After criticizing Trump, Simon said he believes the president should be impeached, though he acknowledged it may face political hurdles."

Wow! What a brave stance to take in Hollywood! This Simon guy is clearly something else!
"“Whether it's successful or not, whether it's politically viable or not, there is an ethic of how you have to behave & what rules have to apply if the American republic is going to survive,” Simon says."

Obama starting a war against Libya without consent of Congress was a-okay!
"“If you say this doesn't merit the response of the other branch of government to assert for the Constitution and for what the Constitution says fundamentally, then that document's meaningless. And the construct, the checks and balances of the republic, have been rendered moot.”"
Obama admits his DACA action is unconstitutional
🤔🤔🤔🤔
David Simon would have us all believe that anything Trump has done is worse than knowing & purposefully violating the constitution to empower criminals & start wars that lead to open-air slave-markets.

This is the logic of the establishment left.
"Southerners were the most pro-England / anti-Germany with 76% agreeing that helping England win was more important than staying out of the war, while only 55% of Midwesterners prioritized England winning."
"Roth’s notion that a Republican Swedish isolationist from Minnesota could have carried the Solid South against FDR in 1940 is just nuts. Here’s what happened in the South in this universe when Republican businessman Wendell Wilkie of Indiana ran against FDR:"
"FDR won at least two-thirds of the vote in every old Confederate state, with over 95% in hyper-Confederate South Carolina."
Just noticed article has been stealth-edited. Idiot journalist called Julius Caesar a "Greek emperor" & I am sure it remained that way for some time afterwards. But now it has been changed to "Roman emperor" (though he wasn't really an emperor either) without noting the change.
The funny thing is one of the headers for a part of the article is: ‘There is an ethic of how you have to behave’
I did tweet out this thread to a number of critics (shitlibs) who were writing about the show, so it wouldn't surprise me if one of them contacted the idiot journalist to have it fixed.
