In my view, @realDonaldTrump is saying the right thing for USA economy. Whether its an attack on USA Fed autonomous status or not is debatable. What is more important to me is here to see larger context & how India can frame its policy for benefit of people, India and world (1/n) https://twitter.com/NileshShah68/status/1187380071943852048
1) USA competence is capitalist economy have strongest & deepest stock market. Even companies outside USA list on USA bourses to tap fund. China prefer to invest its surplus into USA instrument. 2) China competence is devaluing currency in order to make its export lucrative (2/n)
3) Of late, Japan and Europe has transitioned to negative interest economy. Its a free money and in a way will turn out competence for these countries. For example, Softbank is leveraging negative interest rate era in big way. 4) Arab has natural resources & built wealth (3/n)
Question is where India falls & its competence & how can India leapfrog? India competence is free market, free competition. Today we need to compare Strong market vs currency devaluation vs negative interest rate era vs natural resources vs free market(4/n) @PMOIndia @nsitharaman
It turns out to me that negative interest rate era will have biggest impact on world in coming decades and eventually world will move towards negative interest rate era. obviously, if it turn out to be true then the country who move early will enjoy early mover advantage (5/n)
Clearly, Japan & Europe is winner here & that's why Mr. Trump, USA is hard on Fed. Having said that, India cannot move to negative interest era now, but eventually have to. But, that's like not having any advantage at all. how can India leapfrog & benefit from this early on (6/n)
I think one way is to list Indian Government Equity shares without voting right along-with other incidental measures. It will attract global capital & use it to build supply side and eradicate poverty much early. Instead of just being a spectator, India can contribute. (7/n)
