yoonmin au—

yoongi is a dreamwalker. he’s not the biggest fan of his ability, being pulled into random dreams can be annoying. but lately he’s walking into the head of park jimin and maybe he’s starting to like his power. too bad jimin thinks yoongi lives only inside his dreams.
this au is a commission out of a prompt i had posted before. it’s my original idea and the commissioner picked it up for me to rewrite it. if you’re interested in an original commission, dm me so i can send you my list of prompts.

this au is also a gift for @bravapacas 🎉
Yoongi is dreaming.

And he knows he’s not in his own dream this time. He groans because if it’s not his dream and he has accidentally walked into someone else’s dream again, then he isn’t going to get any sleep. And he really needed some sleep tonight, he has an exam tomorrow.
Yoongi has grown used to his ability of dreamwalking through the years. It started when he turned sixteen and his mother explained the basics of it to him back then. He can visit other people's dreams but unfortunately it’s never on his command, dreamers pull him inside instead.
Somehow, he gets dragged there to help the dreamers. Usually they’re having nightmares and Yoongi finds himself being pulled into the nightmares to ease the dreamers down. And he's okay with that.

Unfortunately, his gift takes hour of sleep from him and a lot of strength.
But it just happens, he falls asleep and sometimes he appears in someone else's dream. Just like that. He helps them because always, every time, the dreamers are distressed. And he has no issue with helping people who clearly are going through a bad time.

It's just... tiring.
There's no relation between the dreamers he visits other than they’re troubled.

He knows, however, that he has seen the dreamers at least once in real life and only after making eye contact with them is that he can be pulled into their dreams. That’s the only way it works.
But then he met Park Jimin, and everything changed. All the rules he thought existed around his ability, all the ideas he had about it, they changed.

He wonders if the dream he’s being pulled into is Jimin’s because if that’s the case he doesn’t mind losing hours of sleep.
Yoongi knows the radical shift on the dreams he visits started the day he met Park Jimin. He’s not sure if meeting is the correct word to use, maybe seeing is more fitting to how it all went down.

It all started the day he first saw Park Jimin a couple of weeks ago.
A couple of weeks ago when he didn’t know the boy was called Park Jimin and when he didn’t know anything about him except that he was a student who looked really tired and that he was in the same train as Yoongi.

And well, that he was a really pretty boy with bright orange hair.
The day Yoongi quickly saw Park Jimin in the train, he was later pulled into a regular dream instead of a nightmare. It had happened before but it was strange nonetheless.

Even if he walked inside dreams instead of nightmares, dreamers were usually still distressed.
But that time, in Park Jimin’s first dream, the dream seemed to be one of someone that was pretty much at ease. Yoongi thought that for once, maybe he wouldn't have to calm down anyone.

It didn’t take Yoongi too much to find the dreamer though, in some sort of rooftop party.
Yoongi quickly remembered the boy as someone he had seen in the train earlier that same day. Because of his orange hair. He was having fun in his dream. Unlike when Yoongi saw him slowly falling asleep in the train, now he seemed to be energetic. Surrounded by friends, laughing.
Yoongi remembers thinking that since he was at a party and the dream wasn’t turning into a nightmare anytime soon he should go for some booze.

It wasn’t like he needed to help the pretty dreamer, so maybe he could enjoy the weird occasion of walking inside a regular dream.
Usually dreamers don't realize Yoongi is in their heads until he interferes with the dream itself or once he finds them and tries to calm them down. However, that one time, during Yoongi’s first visit to Jimin’s dreams, it was as if the boy felt his presence right away.
Their eyes met across the weird bar -production of the dreamer’s imagination-, and Yoongi felt tingly all over. The dreamer was really pretty. They glanced at each other a couple of times more, while he laughed with his friends, Yoongi felt like he was in an actual real club.
Eventually, the dreamer walked towards him. Yoongi knew what was happening even if this was a dream, he’s been picked up in bars before.

"I’ve never seen you around before," the dreamer started once he was in front of him. That made sense, it was Jimin’s first dream for Yoongi.
Suddenly Yoongi was holding a cup of beer and they were at a different part of the roof, more quiet and more lonely. It was a dream after all, and there are no rules to scenery.

"I've never been here before," Yoongi played along. For once, he was having fun with his ability.
"I'm Jimin," the boy with orange hair had said with a bright smile.

"Yoongi.”

And then they didn’t stop talking. Almost as if that was what the dreamer truly needed from Yoongi. Not to be eased down or saved from a nightmare, just talk and a flirt a little bit.
They talked and talked, and the scenery of the dream changed once again and they went to what Yoongi imagined was Jimin’s room. Dreams work like that a lot, they’re fragments of memories and the dreamers don’t even notice what they’re doing when they come up with new spaces.
Yoongi thought it was Jimin’s room because it was cozy, and it was around time the sun set so the room had an yellow glow. They were sitting on top of the mattress. Cross legged in front of the other.

"Yoongi, who are you?" Jimin suddenly blurted out and Yoongi woke up.
Yoongi was confused, it was almost as if the dreamer had thrown him out of the dream. It was almost as if Jimin knew Yoongi didn’t belong in his dream. Something that had never happened before.

Yoongi never woke up in the middle of the night but after meeting Park Jimin he did.
He dreamt of Park Jimin again but Yoongi wasn’t surprised by that. The rules for Jimin’s dreams seemed to be all different.

Days went by and Yoongi was still thinking about the cute happy dreamer. Yoongi doesn't get to decide when he enters a dream or whose dream he visits.
And Yoongi had never entered a dream twice but he wanted to see Jimin again. And he did. He was pulled into another three dreams of his, and the same happened every time. Jimin would flirt with him at a coffee shop, at the train station, at a house party, and then Yoongi woke up.
Right now, the dream he was being pulled into, was indeed Park Jimin’s.

Yoongi walks into a dance studio dreamed by Jimin. Yoongi knows because the younger is dancing in the middle of it, focusing on his own reflection. He’s a good dancer, Yoongi notices right away. Really good
Jimin notices him right away. And like all the other dreams Yoongi has visited of his, Jimin doesn’t remember him. And it’s like it’s the first time they’re seeing each other. “Oh, did you confuse rooms?” Jimin asks.

Yoongi plays along. “Yeah, I was looking for a friend...”
They talk as if they were two strangers but it’s obvious how Jimin wants Yoongi to stay, he even asks him if he wants to watch him do his routine and Yoongi agrees.

As Jimin dances, Yoongi wonders what is the purpose of his dreams, and why does he keep creating this meetings.
It’s only after a long moment where Yoongi finds himself at a street with Jimin that the boy says something that catches Yoongi’s attention.

“I've been thinking about you all week,” he whispers. “But for some reason I couldn't remember your face,” he sounds ashamed.
Yoongi thought he knew about dreams, given his ability. But he has no answer to that. Jimin should forget all about him as soon as he wakes up

He has no real answer, so he only fools around. “That’s mean, Jimin, you think I have a plain face so you forget about me,” Yoongi sulks
“I didn’t say that!” Jimin panics, he raises his small hands in defeat and shakes his head. Yoongi laughs, he likes teasing Jimin. This is their fourth dream together, and he thinks he hasn’t seen anyone blush as nicely as Jimin does.

They easily fall back into conversation.
Yoongi thinks he has a tiny crush on Jimin, which he knows is actually kind of sad because the boy won't remember Yoongi from outside his dreams and its most likely they will never meet outside these dreams. But they share them, and Yoongi finds himself content only by that.
Jimin likes talking to Yoongi about himself. Yoongi believes that's why Jimin dreams. His mind doesn’t show his distress, his mind doesn’t make him face his fears like nightmares usually do, his mind only wants Jimin to talk because he doesn't have anyone to talk to in real life.
Yoongi finds himself taking a special interest on the boy -beyond of what he acknowledges as a crush- because Jimin is different from other dreamers. He notices Yoongi’s presence in the dreams without Yoongi needing to do anything and he has dreamed of Yoongi more than once.
Yoongi believes maybe Jimin has some answers about his ability, or at least answers on why everything has changed since Jimin appeared into his life. Yoongi knows he’s pulled into dreams to help the dreamers, but he hasn’t figured Jimin out yet, or how is he supposed to help.
Yoongi keeps being pulled into Jimin's dream, and Yoongi is not complaining about it. He might be tired at morning after a long dream, he might be taking naps at any hour he can, at any place, so he recovers hours of sleep lost at night while Jimin dreams. He's not complaining.
The dreams are always so nice, which must say something about Jimin’s self. He dreams such pretty places. Each dream has a different scenario, some familiar to Yoongi like a river Yoongi vaguely remembers, which leads Yoongi to believe Jimin lives in an area of Seoul near to him.
Sometimes he dreams of other places Yoongi can’t decipher. Product of Jimin’s memory.

They talk through all the dreams about nothing and everything. Jimin is pretty forward about how cute he finds Yoongi, flirty and touchy. Yoongi wonders if he's only like that on his dreams.
He knows Jimin is not going to remember any of their interactions when he wakes up but Yoongi can enjoy it while the dream lasts. There are times Yoongi thinks he doesn't really want to wake up soon, he wishes he could sleep longer. He likes Jimin's company even if it's this way.
There’s a pull between the two, Yoongi believes it’s almost magical.
“You keep dreaming about him?” Seokjin asks while Yoongi is making tea for both of them.

“It’s weird.” Yoongi admits. "It has never happened before."

“Have you tried looking for him? In real life, I mean. Maybe he has some answers to your… ability.” Yoongi thought so too.
“Or maybe it means something, I don’t know…” Seokjin frowns deep in thought. “You usually help these people, don’t you?”

“I do. But I don't know what he needs my help for, nothing bad happens in his dreams, we just... talk,” Yoongi explains. He needs the opinion of an outsider.
“What if this Jimin is in trouble?” Seokjin asks.

“You think? He’s not distressed in his dreams, he’s calm. He doesn’t have nightmares,” Yoongi starts.

“What if…” Yoongi sits in front of Seokjin and hands him a cup of tea before the mans adds, “his problem is in real life?”
Yoongi blinks and Seokjin takes his silence to keep going, “what if he’s dreaming with all these nice things about you because he doesn’t have them in real life…”

“What do you mean?” Yoongi knows but Jimin seems so happy in his dreams, he doesn’t think the boy is troubled.
“Like… he’s dreaming to escape. If you're having such a bad time awake, maybe his mind is trying to keep it sane with those nice dreams,” Seokjin tries and Yoongi thinks his best friend is usually right, so it must be true. But Yoongi doesn't want to believe Jimin is suffering.
"Maybe it's that, maybe it's something else," Yoongi mutters while sipping from his tea. He calms down at the warm feeling on his chest. It's quiet.

"Maybe he's helping you instead of you helping him, have you thought about that?" Seokjin says while looking outside the window.
Yoongi goes silent. There are leaves falling outside and Seokjin seems focused on them. "Every time you've helped these dreamers, the nightmares have all been the same. One dream, you interfere. Maybe he's walking inside your dreams, who knows?"

Yoongi knows that's not it.
He knows they aren't his dreams, but there's a certain truth to the statement of Jimin being the one helping him. He might not know exactly why Jimin keeps pulling him inside his dreams, or why he dreams what he does, but it's true Jimin is the one putting Yoongi at ease.
Jimin is dreaming again and he and Yoongi are in what looks like a soccer field. The reflectors aren’t white though, they’re purple and they light up half of Jimin’s face. He looks beautiful, but he's distracted.

With each passing day Yoongi dreams more and more of Jimin.
"Whenever you are in my dreams," Jimin starts. "They feel strangely real. Almost as if you weren't only inside my head." Yoongi stares at him. That's a really well articulate thought to have in a dream, Yoongi thinks. "When I wake up, it feels more like memories than dreams."
Yoongi looks at the way Jimin pulls the grass between his fingers. "Jimin, where are you?"

"Huh?" Jimin looks up, and he looks confused.

"Where is that dance studio? The one I met you, where is it?" Yoongi tries to get an address out of him, maybe he can find Jimin that way.
Jimin doesn't answer and then they are at a river. Yoongi finds dream logic annoying sometimes. They're walking next to the river and Jimin is running to it, like he’s excited to see it, he calls out to Yoongi and sits on the shore and play with the water.

Yoongi goes after him.
Yoongi starts sleeping more just to see if he can enter Jimin’s dreams.

He goes straight home after class or work only to sleep as much as he can. He figures Jimin is doing the same because he keeps being pulled into the younger's head anytime as soon as he closes his eyes.
“I have such nice dreams,” Jimin admits while drinking coffee.

Yoongi thinks about what he talked to Seokjin and he worries. He worries about what Jimin's mind is doing to protect him. He hasn’t found out yet what Jimin needs him for. “Jimin ah, I want to help you…”

“Help me?”
“What are you worried about? Outside your dreams?” Yoongi knows there’s no logic to this conversation, Jimin won’t remember it when he wakes up, and his state of mind in a dream isn’t appropriate to have this kind of conversation. Jimin stares at his cup of coffee though.
Jimin twirls the coffee and then he looks up at Yoongi, his eyes full of sincerity. "I worry about you.”

Yoongi must admit he’s taken aback by that answer. “Why?”
“I keep dreaming about you, I dream about you so much… it must mean something.”

“What do you think it means?”
“I don’t know. Or I think I know but I rather not think about it.”

Yoongi focuses on Jimin. He’s playing with the cup of coffee, nervous, like he played with the grass on the field. Is he nervous around Yoongi? “Why can’t you think about it?”

“It’s wrong,” Jimin decides to say.
Seokjin sighs loudly. “Well I don’t know Yoongi. I have no idea. Why would he sleep so much?” The elder looks away from his laptop. They should be studying but Yoongi’s mind is somewhere else.

“What if he’s sick?” Yoongi wonders. He can only come up with the worse scenarios.
Seokjin notices his fears quickly. “What if he’s just sad? Like when people lock themselves up in their rooms because they feel empty.” Yoongi knows what feeling Seokjin is talking about

“What can he be so sad about?” Yoongi mutters

“I don’t know, Yoon, you’ll have to ask him.”
Yoongi drifts off to sleep at night with the intention to know more.

But suddenly he's being pushed against a bathroom stall of what seems to be a club, judging by the the muffled music. What makes Yoongi still is that it's Jimin's dream and Jimin's mouth is on his neck.
So Jimin is having that kind of dream now and Yoongi is the subject.

"Yoongi,” Jimin whispers under his breath, it's a whine, and Yoongi tries to keep himself calm but he really can’t when Jimin’s body is all pressed against his. He really shouldn’t be intruding in this dream.
“Hyung, I really want you," Jimin whispers to Yoongi's ear and it has him groaning. Jimin pulled him into his own dream for a reason, Yoongi tries to remember that. He wouldn’t be here if Jimin’s mind wouldn’t be thinking about him.

Yoongi grabs Jimin’s face and he leans over.
He catches Jimin’s lips with his, and it’s like Yoongi has thought about so much, kissing Jimin is so dreamlike. Jimin is pulling Yoongi's shirt and he kisses desperately, melting into the kiss. It feels good, it feels so good Yoongi could stay here longer, but it’s not real.
It’s the best kiss he’s ever had and it’s not real.

But maybe Yoongi could be doing this in real life, he could touch Jimin and hear him in reality if he’d found Jimin and actually met him, but he has no idea where to start looking. Instead he kisses Jimin deeper, rougher.
The scenery changes and they are in a car, Yoongi doesn’t know where but he is in the driver seat and the seat is pushed back enough so Jimin has space to be sitting on top of him. “Do you want me?” Jimin mutters between wet fast kisses.

“Yes.” Yoongi is quick to answer.
Maybe the question is Jimin’s subconscious reassuring him, maybe this is the way Jimin’s mind is telling him what the boy needs to hear.

But Yoongi does want Jimin. He wants all of him. He hopes Jimin’s know, but he knows outside the dream there’s no way he can know.
“I’m going to look for him,” Yoongi decides.

“Finally,” Seokjin scoffs. “You realized being stuck inside your dreams won’t do much?”

Yoongi nods slowly but then he groans frustrated. “I have no idea how I’m even going to find him because he won’t tell me how to help him!”
“I don’t even know what his problem is, but I need to meet him and I need to do something for him. If I find out he’s hurting in real life and I didn’t do anything… I wouldn’t forgive myself,” Yoongi rants. He’s so deep in already.

Jin looks at him sympathetically. “I know.”
Yoongi looks up every dance studio near the area of the train station they once saw each other. The studio is the place Jimin dreamt of more clearly and he could recognize it. There are two negative parts of his plan though. One, he has no idea what dance studio Jimin frequents.
Second, he’s wasting time he could be using to dream about Jimin. And Jimin might be sleeping right now and Yoongi can’t be pulled inside because he’s awake.

But he knows this is more useful. Eventually he finds the river Jimin always dream about and starts looking from there.
He spends days walking around trying to find Jimin. Jin urges him to keep doing it but Yoongi hasn't had any good luck in days. The river doesn’t take him anywhere and no dance studio looks like the one in Jimin’s dreams. He has no idea how to find him and it's driving him crazy.
He notices that after his small absence he's pulled into Jimin's dreams more easily, as soon as he closes his eyes on his bed he’s already dreaming. It’s almost as if the younger is calling him.

They are laying on a bed in Jimin's dream. The sunlight streams through the window.
Yoongi tries standing up to look through the window. Maybe he can recognize the street outside, but once he tries moving Jimin circles his arms around his middle to stop him. “You’re cold,” Jimin complains.

Yoongi understands the boy wants him to get under the blankets with him.
Yoongi does and Jimin buries himself on Yoongi’s neck as soon as they're tangled. "I wish you were real,” Jimin pouts. He won’t remember this when he’s awake and it hurts Yoongi.

"I am real," Yoongi tells him.

Jimin scoffs. “You’re part of my imagination.” Yoongi doesn’t speak.
“This dream seems real though,” Jimin whispers while he touches Yoongi’s face. He’s so close and Yoongi notices every little detail of his pretty face, his lips, his moles, he’s frowning a little and Yoongi’s heart aches, he can only lean forward and catch Jimin’s lips with his.
Yoongi kisses Jimin and the younger kisses him back desperately, like he doesn’t want to wake up. Yoongi wonders if touching Jimin in real life would feel as nice as this. If his skin would burn as much, if Jimin’s skin would be as smooth, if his voice would be as sultry.
Yoongi wakes up and he’s alone on his bed. His room feels blue in contrast to his dream and his skin feels icy. He touches his waist, where Jimin’s hand had been and somehow he feels the ghost of Jimin’s touch on his skin.

He tries to sleep for once, thinking about that.
“What is this?” Yoongi asks in a dream. They’re in a cozy coffee shop. Jimin has dreamt of this place a couple of times.

“A date,” Jimin giggles while he prepares a cup of coffee for Yoongi. He’s wearing an apron and he’s behind the counter and Yoongi is a customer.
“It seems to be that you’re working, how is it a date?” Yoongi asks teasingly. “I expected better of a date from you, Jimin ah.”

Jimin giggles. “Can you play along and be a nice date?” He then leans over to Yoongi, to be able to whisper to his ear, “I’m daydreaming.”
Yoongi squints his eyes. Is Jimin is actually daydreaming or is it a regular dream? Yoongi turns around, it’s not the first time Jimin’s drinking coffee during a dream but this time it’s a little different. He wonders If Jimin is fantasizing at work instead of sleeping in bed.
He wonders if Jimin is napping at work, and if that’s how Yoongi was pulled into a dream. It’s late at night. He wonders if Jimin does work here, at this coffee shop and maybe he has the night shift. He wonders if Jimin is really daydreaming about a date with him at work.
When Yoongi woke up he realizes he’s been looking for the wrong places.

The dance studio isn’t the place. He needs to find the coffee shop. That on can’t be only part of Jimin’s imagination. The dance studio is probably Jimin’s imagination and that’s why Yoongi can’t find it.
But he never considered the coffee shop because it’s more difficult to locate and it just never looked real in the dreams. He could barely see any of the shop when Jimin is dreaming. It was almost as if the scenery was always blurry, and all Yoongi remembers are the drinks.
“Next time Jimin dreams of it ask him to walk out of the store and maybe catch the name of the street.”

“It’s a dream, it could not be the real street. He could take me to any fragment of his memory.”

Seokjin rolls his eyes. “Well, do something, otherwise you won’t find him.”
“Can I pick you up from work?” Yoongi whispers to Jimin. They are in Jimin’s bed.

“Huh?” Jimin blushes when Yoongi asks. He even hides in Yoongi’s neck and hugs him tighter.

“You’d like that?” Yoongi whispers, he thinks that in this dream they are acting somewhat like a couple.
Jimin is blushing when Yoongi leaves a soft kiss behind his ear. Yoongi hit the right spot judging by the reaction but then the boy pouts. “I don’t think you can pick me up…”

“Why?” Jimin nods slowly. “If you want me to do it, I’ll do it.”

“I’d like it a lot…” Jimin admits.
It seems like after that dream he left the idea planted on Jimin’s mind and the next time Jimin is daydreaming Yoongi finds himself in the same coffee shop. He can tell it’s a daydream and not a dream, it’s more clear now, by how real it all looks. Jimin is wearing a uniform.
Usually Jimin’s dreams are warmer, brighter, the party in the rooftop, the river, the dance studio, even the club, there’s a certain beauty to these places from Jimin’s head. Right now, the shop is plain and Jimin looks really tired unlike his dreams. He looks distressed.
Yoongi notices he is wearing a leather jacket, which he knows is product of Jimin’s imagination. He finds it endearing the younger wants to see him wearing that.

He tries to remember every detail of the shop but it’s hard when Jimin is hugging him as soon as he sees him.
Jimin is excited to see him, and Yoongi feels sad because it’s a daydream and he’s not there in real life and Jimin must still be behind the register with that void expression he had just a second ago. With Jimin on his arms, he manages to catch a name of a blackboard. Enough.
He goes to a lot of coffee shops around the area during the next days but he has no luck. It’s on the fourth attempt and a couple of miles away, after a long ride on the train, that he thinks he’s found the one. There’s something about it that screams Jimin. Yoongi just feels it.
Yoongi walks inside the store made a whole mess of nerves. It‘s full of people from offices, with expensive suits, and everyone moves quickly. Yoongi doesn’t wait much until someone in front of him lightly brushes him to walk out of the shop and that’s when he sees him. Jimin.
Jimin is far more beautiful in real life than in dreams. He doesn’t look different, maybe it’s just that Yoongi knows he’s real. He’s there and that, strangely though, makes him look more ethereal. He’s working on the register, just like in his daydreams. But he looks tired.
Yoongi tries walking straight up to him but there’s a long queue and he has to wait. Jimin is there and Yoongi can’t breathe. He can’t wait any more for Jimin. He clicks his feet against the ground impatiently and he takes slow steps forward until he’s standing in front of him.
Jimin is counting some money and asks in a whisper to give him a second. Yoongi’s breath stops at his voice. He thought such a beautiful voice could only belong inside dreams. After a beat, Jimin smiles brightly and asks, “How can I help you?” only after asking, Jimin looks up.
"Jimin?" Yoongi blurts out once their gazes meet.

Jimin’s eyes widen as soon as Yoongi speaks. "Holy shit. You are the man of my dreams," he blurts out.
As soon as the words leave his mouth, Jimin blushes deeply. He covers his face ashamed and looks away, he can’t look at Yoongi’s eyes. The barista next to Jimin starts laughing loudly while preparing a drink. "Jimin what the hell? What kind of pickup line is that?" he chuckles.
Jimin shakes his head. “It’s not a pick up line!” he says bewildered, his tone is nervous and he’s not calm like in his dreams. He turns to Yoongi, clearly anxious. “I’m sorry,” Jimin bows repeatedly. “I’m really sorry, Sir, you just look very familiar…” Jimin cringes.
“I am,” Yoongi says but Jimin looks confused. “I am the man of your dreams,” he grimaces when he explains. Jimin blinks and the barista next to Jimin barks a loud laughter.
“Jaehwan you have to hear this!” the other barista screeches and Jimin tenses, but his focus is on Yoongi.
“Am I daydreaming?” Jimin asks confused. He touches his own face and then proceeds to pinch his full cheeks. He hisses at the pain. They get even redder after he pinches them and Yoongi finds the small gesture incredibly cute. “I’m not…”

“You’re not,” Yoongi agrees.
Jimin strides up to Yoongi then. He moves away from the register to cross over the counter and gently drags Yoongi towards a corner of the small coffee shop where his co workers can’t hear them. The other two baristas are laughing but Jimin tries not to pay attention to them.
He pokes Yoongi’s cheeks, ends up squishing them, he even bops Yoongi’s nose and he can hear the other baristas laughing louder and calling Jimin weird. Yoongi just stays still as Jimin roams his hands all over his face. He’d usually hate something like that but it’s Jimin.
"You're really real," Jimin decides. He looks clearly embarrassed.

"Yeah, pretty much real. Tried to tell you but you didn't believe me."

Jimin squints his eyes. "Wait, you… I don’t get it…You know me, and you know about…?" The dreams. That’s what he’s trying to say.
"I... I know it’s crazy but I was in your dream. I told you in your dreams that I was real.” Jimin looks really confused. Yoongi doesn’t know what to do. “This is going to be weird to explain but it was me in your dreams... As in... I can enter dreams? It was me every time.”
"What?”

“We talked most of the time, in the dance studio and at the party and the river and this shop…”

“You- oh my god. Wait…” Jimin seems to remember. “You were there all the time? How?”

“It happens, if someone dreams of me I appear there...” Jimin’s eyes widen in horror.
“Fuck... the things I've dreamt with!" Jimin hides his face behind his hands. “Oh no, I’m so embarrassed! I’m so sorry! You must think I’m a creep, daydreaming about doing all that with a boy I saw once on the train, I’m so creepy,” Jimin starts taking a step back, anxious.
Yoongi takes a step closer to drag Jimin's hands away from his face. “Hey, no, don’t be embarrassed. I’m the one who is sorry. I barged into your head like that. Well, you pulled me in…”

Jimin is blushing hard. “You can’t- you can’t tell anyone about the dreams,” he whispers.
“I won’t,” Yoongi assures him. “It’s between us, I won’t tell anyone. I just wanted to find you.”

“No, no, you... just don’t mention the dreams at all,” he whispers, looking to a side. “You see, I don’t even like boys,” Jimin tells him quickly.

Yoongi stares at him. “What?”
“I- I don’t,” Jimin mutters. “I was confused and I kept dreaming about you,” he shakes his head.

“You dreamt…”

Jimin takes a step closer. “I know what I dreamt about but I shouldn’t have. I know I kept dreaming about dates and kissing a boy I saw once but… they can’t know,”
“No one knows,” Jimin looks over to the baristas quickly. “Can you order a coffee and I’ll write my number in the cup and we can talk later but not here. I say it because they can’t see us exchanging phone numbers.” He’s so distressed when he’s awake.

Yoongi nods slowly.
He gets Jimin’s number and he texts him as soon as he leaves the store. Yoongi doesn’t know what to do, he wasn’t sure what he expected of meeting Jimin but it wasn’t this.

Jimin texts him half and hour later, asking him to wait for him in the train station. Yoongi waits.
Jimin is wrapped around a large scarf, and his orange hair looks fluffy while he runs up towards Yoongi at the train station. He’s blushing once he stands in front of Yoongi, the cute image makes Yoongi’s heart beat faster. “Hey, do you mind if we walk?”

“That’s fine, Jimin.”
They walk quietly. And Yoongi can tell Jimin wants to say something but he doesn’t dare doing it. Even if they’re walking together, it doesn’t feel as nice as the dreams.

“The dance studio doesn’t exist?” Yoongi breaks the silence. Jimin is startled. He shakes his head.
“My dad doesn’t want me studying dance, so I’m working to save up to at least pay for a workshop but I’m still far away from my goal,” Jimin explains. “I like dancing.”

Yoongi nods. “I know... you dream about that a lot.” Jimin nods shyly. He also dreams a lot about Yoongi.
It’s quiet again until Jimin huffs. “I thought you were... really cute.”

“What?” Yoongi stumbles.

“On the train… and you kept glancing my way,” Jimin blushes. “I wondered if you thought I was cute too.”

“I did, I thought you were really pretty,” Yoongi answers quickly.
“I try not to think about… the way I am… but it was the first time a boy I thought was cute kept looking back at me since I moved here to Seoul, and that’s maybe why I dreamt of you,” Jimin speaks carefully. “It’s dumb, I kept dreaming of ways we’d meet. I’m weird,” he mumbles.
“You’re not weird,” Yoongi answers quickly. “I think it’s more than okay to daydream that kind of stuff. I mean... I was looking forward to meeting you too, that’s why I came all the way here,” Yoongi explains. “It’s not weird”

Jimin looks at Yoongi with wide eyes. He’s so cute.
“You like boys too?” Jimin whispers.

“I do,” Yoongi answers. —I like you— he should say but he doesn’t want to scare Jimin off.

“Of course you do, in my dreams you...” Jimin blushes deeply when e pouts. “You were the one doing all that? It wasn’t my imagination... right?”
“If you’re wondering about all those times we kissed,” Yoongi tries to say calmly. “Yeah, that was on me too, I wanted to kiss you.”

Jimin glances away from Yoongi, he looks embarrassed. “It’s weird thinking it was you all those times... wait, you sleep a lot,” Jimin giggles.
“You sleep a lot too,” Yoongi accuses. Jimin keeps giggling and there’s no way Yoongi is going back home without a date.

“I work extra shifts in the store, so I’m always tired and back home... I rather be sleeping,” Jimin vaguely explains. Yoongi feels his chest tighten.
Yoongi doesn’t know what to do. “I like you,” Yoongi says. “If you’re anything like in your dreams.”

Jimin stops walking. His eyes are glassy and he looks anxious. “Yoongi...”

“You don’t have to be dreaming about me, if you need something you can just call me,” he grimaces.
“I mean, if you’re feeling sad you can talk to me in real life not just in dreams,” Yoongi tries again because Jimin looks worried.

“People would know,” Jimin whispers.

“What?”

“Wouldn’t they notice we like each other?” He sounds afraid. Like in a nightmare, Yoongi would know.
“Ah, that’s why you were so flirty in the dreams,” Yoongi blurts out. His words making Jimin blush.

“In dreams I can act more freely,” Jimin tries explaining.

“I understand that,” Yoongi says quickly. He stops walking to come closer to Jimin, who startles at the proximity.
”I’m not asking you to act like in the dreams. We don’t have to do any of that, if you want you can keep pulling me inside your dreams for that.” Jimin is so red, he covers his cheeks. “But I want you to know I’m here... in real life too, if you want to talk or if you’re sad.”
“You don’t need to make yourself fall asleep every time,” Yoongi rambles.

“Cry myself to sleep,” Jimin corrects.

It’s an impulse how Yoongi lifts his hand to hold Jimin’s face. The younger tenses nut he doesn’t stop Yoongi. “You don’t need to do that, you can call me.”
“Why are you being so nice?” Jimin wonders. He leans into Yoongi’s touch, the slightest bit, like he’s afraid of the comfort.

“You gave me something to look forward to, I guess,” Yoongi tries not to sound too head over heels.

Jimin closes his eyes. “There’s no one around?”
Yoongi is glad for the empy street. “No one.” Jimin shifts the tiniest bit to leave a soft peck on Yoongi’s palm, right where he was holding Jimin’s face.

“Thank you,” Jimin whispers and adds another kiss while looking at him. The small gesture makes Yoongi’s skin go tingly.
Since they’re so close Jimin doesn’t need to lean to push his thumb against Yoongi’s lips. “When you get home, you fall asleep, and I’ll dream of you,” he whispers while dragging his thumb from one corner to the other. Yoongi is speechless. He wants to kiss him but he’ll wait.
He’ll wait until he’s sure Jimin is as happy in real life as he’s in his dreams.
