In this context, & #39;The Proclamation of Jambu Dweepa& #39; (AKA & #39;Tiruchirappalli Declaration& #39;) of June 1801 was issued by the indomitable Marudhu brothers, which called for a wholesale uprising, awakening of Indians, spurred on by pan-Indian feelings & a sense of patriotic nationalism.
As, Professor K Rajayyan says, "...an all India concept inspired the Proclamation..."

Of course there were quislings of the British, like Vijaya Raghunatha Thodaiman from Pudukkottai, Kerala& #39;s Balarama Varma - and many others at that time - who were not swayed by any feelings of Bharathiyatha, but these characters are always puzzling... but...
