Helpful thread for Christians who want to talk with each other about where they don’t see eye to eye.

We could do with lots more of this. https://twitter.com/LanieKAnderson/status/1186333028441825285
Also, I think it’s really OK *not* to always talk with (or about) other Christians about where we don’t see eye to eye.

If we had a moral obligation to always do so, we’d do…nothing else. Even before social networks, but especially now (1/6)
If you feel like you’re accountable for everything you read on the internet, and that everyone must respond to everything, you’re gonna go crazy. And if it feels like everyone’s acting crazy online? That may be part of it.

I’m super, super limited on what I view as responsibilities or even wise actions related to people with whom I don’t have a relationship. It’s not all about me.

And with those folks, it’s also often not about what I may think it’s about at all. Who do I think I am? (3/6)
I say that to remind myself on the regular. Being on Twitter, it feels like I should jump on…all of it. And if it’s flagged with Christian, all the more, because it matters.

But for me, that's mostly a trap. I don’t think God needs or wants that from me. (4/6)
Letting go of that is a very active process for me. It’s work.

And my stake in what it means for other people to be faithful with regard to what they see on the internet is also small. I may have a reckon, but of course I don’t know. (5/6)
Not every internet…thing…is a referendum on meaning. With regard to my heart, what must become greater, and what must become less?

So many things are meant to be big in my life. But I’m not convinced internet debates (mine or others’) are anywhere on that list. (6/6)
