Interested in reading Scream: Curse of Carnage but don't know where to start?
In this thread we will cover some key stories revolving around the Scream symbiote, newest host Andi Benton and the dark god Knull!
Scream makes her very first appearance in issue 4 of Venom: Lethal Protector, having been forcefully spawned from the Venom symbiote by the Life Foundation.
At this time Scream bonds with original host - volunteer survivalist Donna Diego, who has willingly offered her services.
Donna and her five 'siblings' (the other Life foundation symbiotes also created from Venom) eventually battle their 'parent' Venom, who teams up with his nemesis Spider-man.

At the end of the conflict, the LF symbiotes appear to turn to dust and die (but secretly survive!)
Scream next appearance is in 'The Exile Returns', seeking to know how Eddie is able to control his symbiote.
Venom refuses and the two battle once again, only being interrupted by the appearance of the Scarlet Spider!
Scream and her fellow Life Foundation symbiotes return in 'Separation Anxiety'. They press Eddie Brock for knowledge of how to control their symbiotes, all the while a "mysterious killer" starts to pick them off - one by one!
The Exile Returns and the Separation Anxiety arcs were collected in the trade paperback "Venom: Separation Anxiety". Separation Anxiety #1 was also re-released this year under the 'True Believers' banner.
Both the above can also be found on the Marvel Comics App!
There was also a game named after Separation Anxiety. Released for the SEGA Genesis and SNES by Acclaim entertainment the game was a side-scrolling beat ‘em up, allowing two players to play as Spider-Man and Venom.
Strangely the game follows the narrative of the Lethal Protector arc rather than Separation Anxiety; it also features Carnage as the final boss who, curiously, doesn't appear in either storyline.
Scream's next comic appearance is in the 3-parter 'Venom: The Hunted', in which Scream and her 'father' have to team up to do battle with the Xenophage - an alien that has come to Earth to consume Symbiotes (similar to the Poisons in 2017's Venomverse)
Scream appears in Tooth and Claw
Scream makes her final (living) appearance as Donna Diego in Venom Volume 2: Issue 15. Eddie Brock, who is hunting symbiotes, lures Scream into a trap and dispatches her with a sonic bomb and heated knife.

The character would not be seen again for 8 years...

Next is the history of Andi Benton/Mania!
The Venom clone later known as 'Mania' first appears in Venom Volume 1 Issue #1 (recently reprinted as "True Believers: Mania").
The symbiote would go on to bond with radar/communications specialist Patricia Robertson, and become a new 'Venom'
After a series of altercations, the symbiote abandons Patricia and merges with the original Venom, Eddie Brock, in issue 18 - increasing his own powers even further.

Patricia is not seen again until the events of Absolute Carnage: Scream
Andrea 'Andi' Benton makes her first (unnamed) appearance in Venom Vol 2 Issue 31 - in which Flash Thompson (then host of the Venom symbiote) moves to Philadelphia.
In issue 36 - Andi, a student present at one of Flash's PE lessons, deduces that he is secretly Agent Venom!
Venom Volume 2 Issue 38/39 - during a fight between Agent Venom and Jack O'Lantern, the Venom clone previously bonded with Patricia joins with Andi to become Mania!
Andi seeks revenge on Jack for killing her father, but Flash successfully restrains her & trains her as his partner
Unbeknownst to all, Andi received the Hell-Mark along with the Mania symbiote from Flash. This provides Andi demonic powers and the ability to summon 'the Monsters of Evil' - but also gradually corrupts Andi and makes her more violent
Andi continues to fight crime alone while Agent Venom is off-planet during the Space Knight arc, but the Hell-mark turns her bloodthirsty and violent.
The pair do battle when Flash returns from space, however Flash is able to temporarily halt Andi's demonic possession
In 2017's 'Venomverse', Mania and other Venom hosts are recruited from across the Multiverse to fight the Poisons - creatures that feed on beings bonded with Symbiotes.
At the finale, Andi is returned to her home dimension, now aware that Eddie Brock is the current host to Venom
Andi uses her powers as Mania to seek out Venom - hoping to return the symbiote to Flash.
She is ambushed by previous venom host Lee Price, who separates the Mania symbiote from Andi and uses it to become Maniac
In spite of her lost abilities, Andi is still instrumental in defeating her original assailants - fighting alongside Spider-man, Black Cat, Venom and Anti-Venom (now Flash).
Though she is unable to rejoin with Mania, Andi retains the Hell-mark and returns to Philadelphia.
Mania’s storyline has been reprinted in trade paperbacks, the first of these, “Cullen Bunn the Complete Collection” collects Andi’s origin and transformation into Mania.
The second trade volume of Venom Space Knight: “Enemies and Allies” reprints issues #7-13 of the series, which deals with Mania’s demonic possession by the Hell-Mark and subsequent fight with Agent Venom.
Venomverse collects the entire 5 issue saga, which sees the various Venom hosts take on the Poisons. All of these trades can be found at your Local Comic Store, or on the Marvel Comics App!
The saga of Knull begins in Venom Vol. 4 #1. As a primordial Symbiote awakens, Venom is recruited by ex-SHIELD agent Rex Strickland; tasked with stopping this new threat Venom eventually comes face to face with Knull, god of the Symbiotes.
With help from Rex, Venom is able to temporarily defeat Knull - but despite their victory, the real fight has only just begun. You can pick up the first arc of Venom Vol. 4: “Rex”, in trade at your local comic store, or on the Marvel Comics App.
In Web of Venom: Carnage Born, Cletus Kasady is restored to life by a dark cult lead by Scorn. Their ultimate aim is to awaken the Symbiote God, Knull, by collecting residual DNA from former and current symbiote hosts - kicking off the events of Absolute Carnage!
In Web of Venom: Funeral Pyre, Andi Benton is attempting to adjust back to a normal life without her symbiote. However recurring nightmares plague her waking thoughts, and suddenly Carnage appears - seeking to claim the Mania codex inside of Andi!
Cletus kills everyone in his path, until Andi faces him on-on-one.
But even with the power of the Hell Mark and the Monsters of Evil, Andi is no match for Cletus!
Narrowly escaping, Andi makes her way to Manhattan in search of more heroes!
Directly following Funeral Pyre, Andi Benton finds the city under siege by Carnage's "Red Family".
Andi crosses paths with a former Mania host, Patricia Robertson - who is now bonded with the Scream symbiote.
But the power of Dark Carnage forces the new Scream to attack Andi!
Fighting off Carnage's influence, Patricia engages him in battle. Despite her best efforts, Patricia dies protecting Andi.
The symbiote bonds with Andi just in time to save her life - transforming her into the new Scream!
Andi/Scream manages to stall Carnage and flees the scene!
After a brief appearance in Absolute Carnage #5, Scream is next seen in her own solo comic series "Scream: Curse of Carnage"
