adrestian republic and federation of elites au: a thread where seiros loses to nemesis

seiros conks out and loses against nemesis at tailtean and has to be put into a deep sleep to recover
cichol and co take over and slowly recruit some of the elites to their side, convincing them nemesis is going to discard them when he's finished

nemesis is eventually sealed away entirely and, bc of the extended lifespan of the war, it becomes impossible to hide the nature of nemesis and the elites so nemesis becomes the equivalent of satan being sealed away at garreg mach

garreg mach isn't built as a resting place for sothis but rather a sealing ground for nemesis
idk who would be in charge of it on this tl since the saints are busy in adrestia but shrug

after the war, fodlan is split into two powers: the adrestian republic aided in its endeavours by the saints (bar macuil) and the federation of elites built out of the remains of the elites' old land
neither are monarchies

consequently, the church of seiros is never formed bc crests never take root in the same way and nobility doesn't quite exist in the same way either as people have a much bigger priority to maintain and fight for peace

over the next few centuries, slithers is slowly driven further underground due to more open involvement with nemesis and become even more talented at working in the shadows. they get a lot more leeway in certain areas of the federation but not others for "ruining nemesis" or w/e

at some point, the officer's academy is formed at garreg mach for the purpose of reconciling differences, sitting at the midpoint of the two and drawing more attention and security to the seal of nemesis after it was threatened at some point

crests in this timeline are much more nebulous, seemingly appearing at random due to nobility by crest being way less of a thing. children born with crests are often heralded as second comings of heroes, destined for great things even when born as street urchins.

relations with off-continent nations are still tense, but also much more amicable, with better attempts at negotiations being performed to the point where at garreg mach you get a fair number of students from places like dagda, almyra and morfis

come 1180, seiros reawakens in the holy tomb and, after saving the daughter of adrestia's chancellor, the son of the federation's president and the heir to the almyran throne, is appointed as a teacher by the academy's headmaster and guardian of nemesis: byleth

in order to promote the idea of exchanging ideas and improving international relations, students are not sorted into houses by virtue of place of origin but instead randomly (or by some other factor im not sure)
