Hi friends, i’m making a thread about film and art and the stuff i do that’s important to me cuz i never talk about it on this account but i’m gonna start doing that. my friends and i wanna work in film, and we have already begun. last summer we made our first shirt film
i’m gonna take y’all on the journey of how me and @clodgett went from a 5 min story about a kid who misses a girl to a 30 minute short film with a plethora of characters that got showed to a crowd of 350 at our favorite theater @NorthParkTheatr
we completely crowdfunded the whole thing. we rented all the equipment and got a lot of places to let us shoot in their business and in peoples homes. we pretended that @kbianchi14’s house was three different characters houses at one point
we also practically lived at his house for a month. here’s some behind the scenes footage of us trying to fix a hole in the wall with toothpaste lmao
we scripted and casted the whole thing which was awesome. here’s us all together at one of the first read throughs @tjmaran
and here’s how that scene turned out :) not having real actors i played he main character
the film itself is about a group of friends trying i rebuild the friendships... and relationships... after going their separate ways for college. it’s shot partially in VHS and those scenes signify the better days they had before (this was a promo vid it’s not from the film)
and while we were doing this we were pretty much filming a behind the scenes documentary
and generally having a really good time and a lot of fun
all this goofing off is also where the iconic crop top cowboy nard picture comes from. we would film pretty much from the morning until midnight and so one night we were all getting food at 1am and they said they would but it for me if i wore this
we did our best to build hype for it so that everyone would come to our premiere and constantly posted about it
one of the best parts was when we faked a concert and got almost 40 of our friends to come be extras. then people got on stage and started performing for real and it turned into an awesome sing along
pretty much every day was a really great time
the premiere was day after my sister’s wedding so all of went and had a great time there
then it was finally the premiere. 347 people showed up. i had made 100 t shirts by hand for it to sell but me and the boys pulled up in matching suits we bought a few days before
and then we got to do a q&a on stage with everyone after :)
after we made sure to get some good group shots
and then we had to celebrate !!!!!
and finally, we had to make some cool edits :)
we’re working on new stuff that i can’t wait to show everyone but first i just wanted to share something i’m super proud and i hope u read all this and smiled because i really enjoyed making it and can’t wait to show u future stuff!!
we have a new finished project we will be posting soon and we’re also gonna be re realesing the last july shirts with new designs and new merch for the new projects!! and if u wanna watch last july u can find it here. i hope u love it https://youtu.be/1uU8870Ak58 ">https://youtu.be/1uU8870Ak...
