Today is the auspicious day of Kojagari Lakshmi Puja for Hindus of East Bengal origin

73 years ago on this day sullas conducted one of d bloodiest genocides against Hindus in India - The Noakhali Genocide!

THREAD on the events n aftermath of this black day

Lest We Forget!

It was 10 Oct 1946,
Bengal was yet to recover from the Great Calcutta killings of 16 Aug 1946 ordered by Jinnah, executed by Suhrawardy

Barely a month after that bloody incident when Hindus were preparing for Lakshmi Puja, sullas had already planned for a genocide against them

Even though the official riots took place on 10th October, the Hindu killings had already began a week earlier with targeted theft, murder etc

Local poeets n singers started singing anti Hindu songs advocating for violence which started polarizing the 80% Muslims in the area

Gholam Sarwar, a local ex MLA wanted to come to the political limelight & took inspiration from Jinnah and Suhrawardy's DAD killings.
Noakhali was 80% Muslim at that time and was a remote region which meant help was difficult to arrive n the news could be suppressed for long

Now the question is who is Gholam Sarwar Husseini?
Even I am puzzled as there's no wikipedia page of him!

A little more reading revealed that he was a descendant of a peer family of the Diara Sharif at Shyampur
It's important to note that Hindus too went to that mazhar

Being from a religious family, Sarwar indoctrinated the local Muslims against the Hindus and made personal armies and declare Jihad against Hindus

He gave inflammatory, anti Hindu speeches to the Muslims to rally up for the cause

On the day the massacre started

Cried of Naara e Takbeer, Allahu Akbar, Lar ke Lenge Pakistan, Malauner Rokto Chai (we want the blood of infidels) stormed the area

Hindu men were killed, the women kidnapped, their sindoor rubbed off with feet, women raped before their husbands, children thrown into wells, hindu houses burnt, forceful conversion, made to eat beef etc

The more I read, the harder it become to describe the bloody acts

And what was the casualty -

Official figures say 5000 killed

10000 converted in Noakhali
22000 converted in Tipperah

50000-75000 relocated out of fear

Bear in mind these are official numbers, actual figures can be much higher

A survivor tells me the entire river went red that day

The killings continued unabatated for at least a week

In fact even despite that, there were killings which continued till the partition of India

Hindus being the only targets

There was near complete silence from the Nehru Gandhi duo

When the news broke out, a reactionary riot took place in Bihar where Muslims were being killed

Gandhi suddenly woke up and screamed that the Hindus stop the riots in Bihar or else he'd fast unto death!

Nehru too woke up from his deep slumber and exclaimed that if the Hindus of Bihar did not stop riots

He would do an air bomb strike

These two shameless men were quiet when Muslims killed us in Noakhali

But see how they reacted when Hindu Biharis did the same to Muslims!

What does this tell you?

1. Bengali Hindus were expendable
2. They only showed secularism to punish Hindus

These two things are also very true even in the current nature of the Indian Govt

The incident did not happen in one isolated place, instead there were rapes, arsons, massacres reported from the districts of Noakhali and Tipprah. Ramganj, Begumganj, Raipur, Lakshmipur, Chhagalnaiya and Sandwip police stations were affected in Noakhali

While Hajiganj, Faridganj, Chandpur, Laksham and Chauddagram police stations in Tipperah district were also affected by the Riots.

Needless to say that these are only officially maintained records, on ground incidents may have been even more widespread

Now coming to the flop show and file role of Gandhi afte The Noakhali riots

Out history books tell us he maintained peace in the area but facts and figures reveal that his entire mission was an inexcusable failure

Ghandy started his Noakhali tour from around 6 Nov which lasted till April 1947

he was shunned completely by the Muslims who periodically threw dirt, rubble, meat bones etc at his path signalling their intentions of his arrival and reception to his Mission

He organized prayer meetings in which only or mostly Hindus came

He went to Muslim houses and explained them the virtues of tolerance and non violence

Remember that this shameless man had once told Hindu women in Punjab to bite their tongue n hold their breath till they died

These are some golden words spoken by this shameless Ghandy while at Noakhali

He asked Hindus to be brave and accept death! Such a shameless man, my blood is boiling as I type this message

Hindus lost their homes, their memories, their children, relatives, belongings etc

and at this moment of trauma this shameless Ghandy tells them to die?
he tells women to die so they they are reborn as heroines?

HOW DARE HE?!

In one of the rare occurrences where muslims had come at a prayer meet

The shameless Ghandy told them that Islam means Peace, Islam doesn't promote killlings, Loda lehsun

Doesn't this remind you of the current state of India these days where appeasement takes place?

And guess what? after a series of failures, just like all of Ghandy's initiatives

that shameless man had the audacity to say - Quit Noahkhali or Die to the Hindus when he realized that this Mission too was a resounding failure!

Let me repeat this again
families were lost, homes were lost, memories were lost, possessions were lost, it takes a life long effort to relocate and finally settle down
and in that moment, he had the audacity to ask the Hindus to flee and not take back what was rightfully theirs?

Even Shri Krishna told Arjuna to fight
Shastras tell us that we must pick up the sword for a righteous cause

The man with zero shame Ghandy sadly cared more about his personal ego than the lives of the many many Bengali Hindus which had been permanently scarred

Let me remind you again that Gandhi immediately threatened Bihari Hindus when they killed muslims in retaliation

Ghandy said he's fast unto death

Clearly this shameless man cared more about his own image and publicity which is why he made such an outrageous statement!

I mean seriously?! People are dying and this man says he'll fast unto death and that too to the Hindus not muslims who were killing hindus in the first place

LOL

Jai Ho Secularism!

Let me again remind you that Nehru threatened Bihari Hindus with air bombs to stop the riots!

And for Bengali Hindus?

Nothing!

LOL

This single shameless man is responsible for so much wrongs in India

Now I'll share some other incidents that happened during the riots.

The person of note here is Sucheta Kripalani who accompanied Ghandy to Noakhali

She carried a capsule of Cyanide with her while at Noakhali

do you know why?

Gholam Sarwar had issued a decree that however managed to rape Sucheta ji would be given the honorific title of a Ghazi!

Ghazi is an honorific title given to Sullas who fight against Kaafirs

Such incidents at Noakhali are simply too many

i shall highlight a few of the key events that happened in the riots

Here are some notable individuals from the Riots

Rajendralal Roy, ex president of the Noakhali Bar and then president of Hindu Mahasabha

He sheltered Hindus at his place when the riots were occuring

He defended the Hindus using his gun

however he ran out of ammo and his severed head was brought on a plate to Sarwar

His two daughters were kidnapped and married off to influential Muslims of the society

Bengal PM Suhrawardy was quoted as saying that the rape of Hindu women was natural as they were more beautiful than the Muslim ones

Isn't this the same thing that happens to Hindu women in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Muslim majority parts of India even till this day?

Another influential person murdered is Surendranath Bose

He was the then president of the Noakhali Bar

he too was killed by sullas who ventured into his house

One of the very prominent killings was of Lal Mohan Sen - a freedom fighter

he was a part of the Chittagong Armory Raid led by Masterda Surya Sen

He had recently come out of prison and returned to his home in Noakhali

he was killed by the sullas when he protested to killings

Now for some questions

what explains this ghastly incident?

The communist Proletariat vs Bourgeois argument that 20% of Hindus were better educated?

Absolutely not, what else explains the forced conversions then?

it was Jihad

Sarwar and his allies kept religious armies

3 notable one's being Mia's fauj, Akbar's fauj and Kasim's fauj

he was also assisted by a maulvi

he himself was a descendant of peers as mentioned earlier

The planning was done before

muslim league ensured that no boatman allowed to ferry Hindus away from Noakhali

isn't this very similar to the current Indian work demographics as Muslims these days too occupy almost the entirety of one profession?

What are we doing to prevent another Noakhali?

most of us probably had no idea such an event ever happened

we all know about things like Dandi march

are we ever explained why Mopilah, DAD and Noakhali happened?

the reasons are all the same

Now where are the descendants of the incident?

Scattered across Tripura, Assam, Bengal

many of the Muslims there in Noakhali are probably descendants of the kidnapped hindus too

now they will call Hindus kaafirs and malauns!

This is what happens when u ignore history

My heart pains for the Hindus who went to the Diara Sharif

they truly believed God is everywhere

while the others believed they were Kaafirs, idolators ,the lowest of all people

and what happened to Sarwar after Noakhali?

Frankly even I do not know

what's more important to me is what are we doing to prevent another Noakhali?

Appeasement and ignorance is definitely not the solution for me

I frankly reject ghandy
i call out the bluff in our history books

tell me did his peace mission really deliver justice?

it was just a lump of Boroline on an extremely deep wound

a band aid put on top of a total fracture

Every Kojagari Lakshmi Puja I am reminded of the horrors of Noakhali

what my ancestors, my brethren, my people had to go through

without ever receiving justice
