The whole emoblackthot fiasco has reminded me of a theory I have thought about recently. There are many nonblack people whose seek validation from black people, specifically black women.
People who perceive others as “below” them often expect those lesser people to validate them in some capacity. And many POC, do this in relation to white people. But black people, especially black women refuse to.
And many people find this fact offensive.

By the mear fact that we only seek validation within our community, other groups read this as rejection on a subconscious level.
So they go either of one direction, becoming obsessive and emulating everything we do, or straight up bashing us as way to coerce us into bringing them into our consciousness. Both strategies are coping mechanisms for rejection.
Black women really bruise people’s egos and self esteem by existing.

And with the anonymity provided by social media, it allows these people to live out their fantasy of being validated by groups of people they do not have access to in the real world. Hence all the cat fishing in black women’s images, by men AND women alike.
Black women are this powerful. Use your validation wisely ladies. They’re getting desperate out here.
