Rwanda, under Paul Kagame has since 1998 increased numbers of troops in Kivu East DRC, ostensibly to fight Hutu militants. Since 2004 over 1 million have died from the conflict, 45000 women were raped in 2005 alone. Kivu is rich in coltan, used to make capacitors for smartphones

The reason Kagame is seemingly given free reign to do and speak as he wishes is because of the military support he gives to the West, helping them to control minerals and land in the DRC

Kagame was trained, armed and parachuted into Rwanda from East DRC (Kivu) and potrayed as a saviour during the 1994 Rwandan genocide which was engineered and financed by France. The idea was, is, that he would hold Kivu and it's wealth and keep it away from the people of the DRC

In return, Kagame and Rwanda would receive immunity from his war crimes, financial and military support. This is why Rwanda, a small country with a small population ruled by a minority is being potayed as a role model for all of Africa

Despite being president for almost 20 years now, there's no dictatorial stigma attached to Kagame, instead he keeps getting lauded and seen as an example of excellence. All because the West is eating off him while the people of DRC die at his hands
