That Petr Cech's decision just reminded me of Oprah Winfrey's words, “Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do.”
Now that he has secured his financial future, he can follow his childhood passion.

That is the kinda life I am planning to have too. 💪🙏
We all have childhood passions that tempts us to turn them to our career. But in these climes, NOT every passion can be followed to make wealth.
So what do we do in this position? We do other works, get skills, develop ourselves, secure the future.

We'll return to them later.
After my NYSC, I started an aviary in my father's backyard. My sojourn in Bacita, Kwara made me fell in love with Agriculture again!
I wanted to make rearing of birds my career; turkeys, guinea fowls, geese, et al. I love watching them at sunsets play in our backyards....
But my wise big brothers saw a young man drifting away from living to his full potential into following "passions". One of them called and spoke to me, asked me to get a job, learn how businesses are run.
"You didn't get Engineering degree for this, he said. "You can do more!"
I grudgingly listened, left all. Sold my fine turkeys, guinea fowls and declared bankruptcy. 😂
I picked up my certificate, started looking for jobs for straight ONE year, nothing! After a year n some months, I finally got an unpaid job role in a Real Estate Firm for 6 months.😒
In those period, I participated in renting and selling of Real Estates worth millions. I saw a lot of Naira exchange hands, with zero in my pocket.

But I was there to learn, not to earn. It was psychologically hard but necessary for my progress, "I had to do what I had to do."
Now, I work as a Sales Support Engineer in a Company that is barely 10 years old but really growing. Now I see firsthand how deals are made, business built, tracking of the progress and all.

But what about my Agriculture dream, owning of ranches and all? It is still there.
By the time I have secured my financial future and have enough know-how on running those my childhood passions on a big scale, I'm definitely going back to them.

I once discussed with @Greymist_0217 about running a fishing company on this TL too. We'll do it in it's right time.
But we should also note that some people were so fortunate that they followed their childhood passion and achieved wealth. They walk amongst us. It is very possible.

There are many ways to hacking this thing called Life.
For those of us working in other fields and not what we loved as kids, if possible, we should try as much as possible to do what we love in our spare time. Don't let that child in you die cos you're chasing money too much.

If you can, do what you love doing in your spare time.
Reminds me of a pal in Uni, Moyo (AKA Jack Sparrow). Guy could sketch great portraits in minutes, but was asked to study Engineering.
Told me his mum (Mathematics teacher) will beat him whenever she sees him drawing as a kid. Now that he's an Engineer n working, he still draws.
