North Indian October evenings are usually punctuated with a nip in the air, the sun spilling a bottle of color all over the horizon before drowning in haze, and a solitary diwali bomb going off at a distance.
And the sound of Azaan blaring from a loudspeaker, chasing away the birds perched on the minaret, randomly flying in no particular direction. Kids playing their last match of 4 overs each. Another diwali bomb goes off.
A hawker working up his kerosene stove, till it starts hissing with blue flames. Why?

To Boil eggs

the most popular street snack, neatly cut frm the middle, laced with Kaala namak & green chilly. Kids will gobble it whole on thr way back, their MRF bats resting on thr shoulders
Kids getting amused seeing a tornado of mosquitoes hovering over their heads, as they wait for their fav street food.

And an old Dev Anand song leaking from a Paan shop's radio at a distance, as night falls.
