Pearly's Book Recs. This will be an ongoing series.
Ripped through a WW2 historical fiction novel for a change of pace and very much enjoyed it. Cc: @beyondreasdoubt
Since I just got Disney+ and am watching The Sound of Music 🥰
I'm only on page 17, but this book is very good. The writing is fantastic. If you love historical fiction, try this
Katherine Howe is one of my faves because I was OBSESSED with the Salem with trials when I was a kid. In grade school I read every book in the public library that related to them and then, honestly, emotionally struggled with the fact that there weren't more available to me.
It's 3 am and I'm finally forcing myself to put this down until after my morning appointments. Otherwise I would have read it in one sitting. It's eye-opening and brave...just incredible. Keep a box of tissues handy.
LOVING this. "A former FBI hostage negotiator's field-tested tools for talking anyone into (or out of) just about anything" ⤵️ h/t @DustinHLand 🙏🏼
I stayed up way too late to read this historical fiction novel in one sitting, crying the whole way through it. It's good, but the subject matter is tough. Luckily I had lots of Pearly cuddles ♥️
Tonight I read this, and it's my favorite Lisa Jewell novel (thriller/mystery) yet. Helen Pluckrose turned me on to this author, and she did not let me down. Just like last night, this one kept my attention so well that I ripped through it in one sitting!
This debut thriller kept me on the edge of seat. Will be keeping an eye on this author.
I am still drying my tears after finishing this historical fiction novel. The writing is so beautiful and the story is just heart-wrenching. I just ordered everything else by this author. Kristin Hannah and Kate Morton are two of my absolute favorites and you know ya girl loved
Downton Abbey, so the praise at the top of the cover read like a jackpot, and it really ended up being exactly that.
This one's a good old-fashioned mystery! The writing is vivid and evokes the period, and it is SO well-researched. Any lover of Charles Dickens will love this 🙃
I bawled like a baby at the end. This author is so good. Beautiful prose and strong character development. 👌🏼
This was a very practical book. Lots of great tips and science about how to build a great presentation. It also inspires confidence. 👍🏼
The Butchering Art, by Lindsey Fitzharris was a FASCINATING read. I could not put it down. Thank you, @SaintRPh for the recommendation! Pearly now recommends it to all of you 😘
Always a pleasure to read (listen to) McCullough. He makes history so interesting and readable.
There's no such thing as repressed memory.

Read this great book to find out more 😉
