My mother passed away on the 27th of September and I know it’s quite an inappropriate time for me to be doing this but in honour of my mom,I feel like it’s imperative that I take a stand against the Fergusons as @theVati_Can has raised some really valid points

My mother worked on the set of The Throne when it was still starting out for a period of 2 weeks or so.She started experiencing pains which she initially thought was a toothache only to find that it was an ENT problem which later led her to having a seizure on their set

The Fergusons FIRED my mother unlawfully and I had to even call the producer Lauren Nel to BEG her to give my mother back her job as we needed it and I’m the only child she has so I’m dependent on her. Mind you this Lauren woman is a rude piece of shit who didn’t budge

On top of them unlawfully FIRING my mother they REFUSED to compensate her for rendering her services during the time she was with them. Prior to her seizure she was consulting DRs,as this was a serious matter which needed her utmost attention

...which meant that she’d obviously get booked off sick. They FIRED her the DAY AFTER her seizure through an email. Their reasoning was hella pathetic. When my mom brings it to her attention that they haven’t remunerated her,they said they did which is not true

The accounts lady Margaret or whatever her name is also like Lauren. THEY’RE BOTH RUDE. Lo Margaret wamasimba was very rude towards my mother when she had pointed it out that they still owe her money. She made it seem like my mom’s crazy & mind my mom was good with figures

So in essence,if you’re starting out as an artist or crew member,I’d highly suggest that you DON’T work at Ferguson Films. They exploit their black creatives just like they did with my late mother

My mother(I stand to be corrected) was the first black script supervisor in the country so she had a good reputation and she was first point of reference. So for the Fergusons to exploit my mother the way they did proved to me WHO they really are.

If you ask anyone that has worked with them,MOST of them will hardly sing good praises about them. Apparently Shona also makes it unbearable for some of his cast members at The Queen so it goes to show their character

I don’t give a shit whether y’all find this as an attention seeking tactic or whatever but it’s about high time someone took a stand against them. If we continue to keep quiet,they’ll continue exploiting our parents the way they did with my mom

In closing,I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR FERGUSON FILMS!!!!!!!!
