People loved this movie because it is a masterpiece and an evergreen sports classic. The movie is a crash course on team work. Anyone remotely familiar with what it means to be labelled a Pakistani traitor in India which is akin to be publicly declared as a terrorist knows the
stakes involved in the movie and how important it is that Kabir is successful in redeeming himself. Just because the genre wasn't done in mainstream like that before doesn't mean you make shit and people will lap it up because it is "different". Rather successful? Actually very
very, successful. So much that the makers expected the film to flop hard. Dude how are you making statements like it was SRK's attempt to go out of his comfort zone yada yada and his thought process before giving his nod, like he has never done that before?
