This weekend, I competed in the Spartan World Championship and it was the most difficult thing I’ve ever done in my life. My gf, @KirkDeWindtPT and Jess were there to cheer me on and take videos. I’ll share the experience here and my result at the end. @SpartanRace
I’ve been battling a foot injury for 2 months and got a cortisone shot 9 days before the race. During my warmup, it flared up

Many of the elite racers missed the spear due to the cold weather(28 degrees at the top of the mountain) and wind. This was a big throw for my race. (Second from right)
I failed 2 obstacles at the top of the mountain and was worried about grip taxing obstacles during the rest of my race, such as this obstacle called beater.
I failed the tire flip(400 lbs) at the North American Championship last month. This was sweet revenge!
Post race feels...
This is my ranking among all age groups. I started out conservative, but failed 2 obstacles shortly after the bucket carry and you can see my ranking drop

I finished 13th in my age group and 52nd out of 683 in all age groups. I simply couldn’t believe it! My cheering crowd helped me so much and my stubborn nature haha.
I’ll add a few more videos from this race. This is at the peak of my exhaustion from this race.
Last obstacle before the finish. This sandbag is around 80 lbs.
After a failed obstacle, I had to do 30 burpees with a windchill in the teens on top of a mountain. Hands were toast...
One of my two failed obstacles. Literally the last hand grip before hitting the bell was the difference between 30 burpees(which takes time, energy) and not.

Special moment between my Kirk DeWindt (trainer/best friend/Spartan Pro) and myself.
Almost didn’t have enough grip strength/energy here
