Democratic Republic of Congo 🇨🇩

The richest countries on earth in terms of minerals.

Limitless water, abundant deposits of copper, gold, diamonds, cobalt, uranium, coltan, oil, lithium, coffee, palm oil, rubber, cotton, sugar, tea, and cocoa.

DRC 🇨🇩 is rich guys. #AfricaMR
Let’s talk about “COLTAN” “which is used in almost every electronic devices in the world. #AfricaMR
DRC 🇨🇩 contributes 80% of the world's coltan.

When refined it becomes a heat resistant powder that can hold a high electric charge. Thereby creating devices that store energy or capacitors, which are used in a vast array of electronic devices, mostly in phones, laptop etc
You currently carrying a cellphone, laptop and electrical device? There is 80% of chance it contain comgo based product in form of Tantalum or other forms. The billions electric devices that exist, we owe that technology/material to DRC 🇨🇩 #AfricaMR
Sadly 😔 DRC economy doesn’t directly benefit from such a precious material.

DRC is one of the poorest countries in the world. This is due to their lack of a stable government & their natural resources, wars and conflicts

Other countries do benefit this this. Yep #AfricaMR
Rwanda 🇷🇼 and Uganda 🇺🇬 at some point made over made $600 million as a result of exploitation of coltan in the Congo. Although Rwanda and Uganda possess little or no coltan. They sell this product to international companies. #AFricaMR
Some companies which benefits “so so much” from DRC Coltan include but not limited to:

USA 🇺🇸

Cabot Corporation, Boston
OM Group, Cleveland
AVX, Myrtle Beach
Eagle Wings Resources International, Ohio
Trinitech International, Ohio
Kemet Electronics Corporation Greenville, SC
Also companies form other contries include but not limited to

Germany's HC Starc and EPCOS, China's Nigncxia
Belgium's George Forrest International

“United Nations does say that these companies serve as "the engine of the conflict in the DRC." 😂🤷🏾‍♂️

Coltan is processed & converted to capacitors then sold to companies such as:

Nokia, Motorola, Compaq, Alcatel, Dell, Hewlett-Packard , IBM, Lucent, Ericsson and Sony for use in a wide assortment of everyday products ranging from cell phones to computer chips and game consoles.
What are some of the uses of coltan in modern society?

• Laptop computers
• Cellular phones
• Jet engines
• Rockets
• Cutting tools
• Camera lenses
• X-ray film
• Ink jet printers
• Hearing aids
• Pacemakers
• Airbag protection systems
-Ignition and motor control modules, GPS, ABS systems in automobiles
• Game consoles such as playstation, xbox and nintendo
• Video cameras
• Digital still cameras
• Sputtering targets
• Chemical process equipment
Cathodic protection systems for steel structures such as bridges, water tanks
• Prosthetic devices for humans – hips, plates in the skull, also mesh to repair bone removed after damage by cancer
• Corrosion resistant fastener

Africa is beyond any place in this world..

God truly blessed Africa with Mineral resources.

Imagine if DRC 🇨🇩 benefited at least 30% from their coltan. This material is applied in any electrical device you can think of in the world. #AfricaMR
With so many minerals, African people continue to suffer the worst kind of poverty..

Africa Union & African leaders continued to turn a blind eye when the west continues to loot our minerals.

Kuzolunga African child.. #AfricaMR
