The "Cheddar Man" Hoax (thread):

Back in early 2018 we were bombarded by every major news outlet telling us that the first Britons were black. A claim made based on the DNA analysis of the skeletal remains of "Cheddar Man".
The study was carried out by Mark Thomas, Dr Tom Booth and Yoan Diekmann and the findings were given to the media before they were even published in a peer reviewed scientific journal.

This was likely done because they knew the media would run with the story regardless.
Back when this happened I did some digging and found that the individuals involved in the study had extreme left leanings.

They followed Jeremy Corbyn, Hope Not Hate and pro-EU pages & would regularly attack other scientists for being "racist" or "sexist" etc.
Whilst leftists were celebrating and sticking it to the "fascists", the first to publish the story (New Scientist) made a retraction claiming that the findings may not be accurate. Even one of the geneticists who performed the research said the findings were *less than certain*.
Many experts in the field were also extremely sceptical, one of those being Brenna Henn of Stony Brook University - "We're not yet ready to predict the skin tone of pre-historic people just by their genes"
Brenna had previously used the same techniques to see if she could predict the skin tone of living Africans based on their genes.

The results were very inaccurate often predicting the darkest subjects as having the lightest skin. Hence the scepticism.
With all that out of the way, even if Cheddar man did indeed have dark skin he was classified as a Western Hunter Gatherer (WHG) which doesn't mean genetic affinity with modern sub-saharan Africans since WHGs are more closely related to Northern Europeans.
Furthermore, over 90% of the DNA of Britons was replaced by the Beaker folk who arrived around 4,500 years ago.
So make up your own mind. Was this legit science or a politically motivated stunt pushed by a bunch of Marxists to deligitimize the native Brits and further the globo agenda?

Here's the original reconstruction of Cheddar man:
Lol COPE!
> Media before peer review
> New science retraction
> Results *less than certain*
> Experts disagree with findings
> Same technique proven inaccurate
> WHG's related to N.Europeans
> Britons descended from beakers
