A Non-Expert guide to being a BTS PC collector

(Don't let yourself be ripped off - like me. )

Having many collector friends, some ongoing, others have retired, and many are just starting- im making this short thread, and guide. Feel free to contribute and ask

Specks are your friend

For album and dvd photocards, look for the speck (the point in which the cards were cut) they are two dots/textures at any of the edges of the cards. You can feel for them. If it's there, then it's real.

Japanese pcs also have specks. But the placement is different. As i've noticed. Two on one side, the other side is in the middle. (Japanese pcs are rarely faked though.)

For hyyh pt, pcs do not have rounded corners, and have a very sharp image both front and back. Fake ones have a muted color, and the writing on the back isn't as sharp. (This is a tough one)

Wings photocards have a matte border in the front, satin texture at the back, and glossy in the middle where the picture is.

Similar to Wings, Young Forever has a matte border in the front, satin at the back, and glossy middle. There's also a weird printing texture on the border and back (it isnt completely white, and has this diamond/wave texture design)

Front is glossy, back is matte. Ive been ripped off this photocard TWICE. yoongi was my original pull. Notice the difference? Again. Real pcs have a sharp, saturated printing and coloring.

These do not have specks, but the texture of the pc is glossy in front, and matte black at the back.

Playcards have a matte border and back, yet a glossy finish where the picture is. Similar to wings and young forever. The blue border has silver specks throughout. Similar to the silver text in the card.

Very sharp and clear image. The blue back also has very tiny, tiny, silver specks and when you put it under light, the texture of the card is like this. Fake cards have a smooth texture and is just blue.

ALAS! MY MOST RECENT RIP OFF! I know they're not from the same set. But one of them is fake. These, I think are the most faked ones by experience. Because of BTS's growing popularity and high demand, a lot of unofficial ones are easily produced. And fast.

The real one has a yellowish cream colored back. Fake ones are almost white. The text are in very bold red, and are quite sharp. Notice how under sunlight, the fake one almost has a pinkish hue? Also, the texture. Under light the real one has a texture, fake one is smooth.

Armypedia postcards are also being unofficially reproduced. Notice how even in the yellow lighting, i can still see the strand of JK's hair? Yes. That's how sharp the image is. The postcard is completely matte.

Another tough one. Again, images and text are sharper. Color is brighter. The front and back is glossy, but under light, the card has a texture. The fake on is smooth, and the back part is less silver-y if it makes sense.

These moodlight Photocards have a matte border and back, and glossy center. The name of the member is enclosed in a rectangle embossed directly into the card.

Hello specks! I see you again! Also, the back part of the card is off white. Ive seen fake ones that are too cream colored, and others are too white. (This is an original pull) .. i know it's tough, sorry

Older and Rare photocards aren't easily faked. Especially Japan ones. I haven't seen fake lenticular cards either. The best way to really know if a photocard is legit is if its's your original pull, have traded with trustworthy friends & have put them side by side w/ real ones

Always be cautious, and ask for real pictures (front and back) first before buying. I hope this short thread has been a little helpful. Happy PC collecting everyone! 보라해요!
