After reading Superfly's comment on Koori no Tojikomete, I decided to make a [THREAD] to translate/explain the song bcs I have nothing better to do than show the world how much Galo and Lio are in love with each other

So, what Ochi Shiho says in her comment is that she chose to make "unrequited love" the theme of the song.
She explains that one day she picked a icicle that fell on the ground out of pity, but it melted in her hands despite her intent of kindness.

She realized that warmth can also hurt, and compared it to relationships between people: sometimes love can hurt others for human rs are complex. It is hard to know how much distance you should put between you and the loved one.

In the song there is the one who burns with passion and the cool one, representing Galo and Lio's rs and unrequited love for each other.
Galo's love is too intense as he feels the need to be close to his loved one. Lio on the other hand is the type who wants to put some distance.

Their love is so strong they would sacrifice themselves to be tainted by the other, but if they get closer they will ruin both themselves and the other.

Based on the lyrics (written from Galo's pov), Lio always runs away bcs he doesn't want his true self to be seen.

But if Lio is not with him, Galo's love will burn him down and turn him into ashes. So he asks to be emprisoned in ice so he can wait for Lio to come back.

Galo's love will last, until the day they can finally be together and touch each other.
