Good morning everyone! Having discovered that Pretty Cure has been going for 16 seasons, I've decided I'm going to pick my favorite from each generation based on aesthetics only (I've only seen Glitter Force, which I believe is closely related/inspired by, but not the same thing)
Futari wa Pretty Cure/Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart:
Already a tough choice. Only two Cures in that first season and I can hardly pick! But I chose... Cure Black. I like darker colors and she looks a little bit more outgoing and fiesty, & more contrasting colors in her outfit

I'm seeing a theme with these early seasons. I'm going to have to give it to Cure Bloom/Cure Bright, their colors just pop in a way that I enjoy. Her counterpart is very elegant and pretty, but it all comes down to personal taste

A larger roster this time. You might think I'd lean towards Cure Rouge, given the red hair and fire powers, but I'm torn between Cure Mint and Cure Aqua... And I think Aqua stands out just a little bit more with the darker hair, and she seems a bit more confident

Fresh Pretty Cure! [1/2]
An overall softer color palette this season, but the designs are still fresh, amirite? Cure Peach feels like a clear homage to Sailor Moon to me, but maybe I'm way off on that. I like Yamabuki Inori the best in their non-transformed states, but...

I stand corrected about Glitter Force not being properly connected to the Pretty Cure franchise. I'm quite familiar with these characters beyond just aesthetics, and I love all of them. Cure Sunny gets my pick, both from aesthetic and personality

Honorary shoutout to Lily/Cure Peace (and I guess her name was Kise Yayoi in the sub, the more you know) who, if memory serves, always accidentally shocked herself before unleashing her lightning on her enemies.

For this one, I gravitate towards Cure Heart and Cure Sword. THey kind of remind me of Sylpheon and Espeon, to be honest. In the end, unable to completely pick out the element that swayed my vote, I give it to Cure Heart.

Wow, this might be my favorite group so far by design alone! Scarlet is wonderful and I love her ruffles, Flora seems bouncy and cheerful, Twinkle is a cutie and gives off major Princess Daisy vibes, but in the end... Cure Mermaid has the strongest motif

Woah, I found a FLuttershy and a Twilight Sparkle in this season. While I do dig the asymmetrical pony tail of Cure Miracle, Just.... Just look at Cure Magical! The cape, for one, and also, her hair is a bat!

This may actually have been what sparked this thread. My wife found the (one of?) the endings on her TL and we fell in love. The squirrel tail is cute, on Cure Custard, my eyes are immediately drawn to Macaron, Chocolat, and Parfait

The color design for Cure Amour is perfect. I love it. And that hand-on-hip is perfection. But the deciding factor was the wing-like cloth on Etoile. It feels unique to her character and lends her a sense of agility.

These are some great choices in this season, but I find my choice obvious. Cure Soleil is my pick. Not only because she adds some variety to the very white cast, but the swirls and complimentary colors in her dress, and the headband. Perfect.
