Figured I would do a little thread on the wonderman himself, Aajonus Vonderplanitz. He's honestly one of the most interesting people to have recently lived. Born in Cincinnati as John Richard Swigart (still a cool ass name), Aajonus suffered from many illnesses.
He was dyslexic, autistic, he had peritonitis, juvenile diabetes, alcoholism, a stomach ulcer, multiple myeloma (cancer), psoriasis, bursitis, and severe periodontitis. Seeing as how modern medicine made him sick, he began to do his own research.
At the start of his journey, a little girl nicknamed him Aajonus. He disliked his old name because it reminded him of all his illnesses, so he changed his name. He adopted his European ancestor's last name, Vonderplanitz. He claimed to heal his dyslexia and cancer with raw milk,
and raw carrot juice. Soon after, he became a raw vegan. This was short lived. After a sojourn in Latin America, he learned secrets from animals and Native Americans about the power of raw foods, specifically raw meat, raw eggs, raw dairy, raw fats, and unheated honey.
"He claimed to have discovered raw meat's putative healing capacity when fasting in the wilderness, where a pack of coyotes killed, tore open, and offered him a jackrabbit, then watched him until he ate it." How fucking cool is that?
He was a staunch defender of RTCHF, or Right to Choose Healthy Food. Through legal battles, he helped end the ban of raw milk in Los Angeles. He was invested in Claravale farms, which is one of the largest raw milk suppliers in California (I drink their milk!).
He had described multiple conspiracies to end his life, which have been corroborated by two of his friends. "Still, by 2010, he believed himself the target of governmental or pharmaceutical conspiracy to neutralize him. In 2009, he had described the ongoing flu pandemic as...
a hoax mediated by flu vaccines. He alleged apparent retribution by invaders of his hotel room in Thailand forcibly giving him injections that sent his 'mercury, barium, and chromium readings off the charts', impairing his health, causing weight loss, and prematurely aging him."
Unfortunately, he fell off a balcony in Thailand, paralyzing him and causing internal bleeding. He passed away shortly thereafter.

One of the coolest and most interesting people I've ever learned about. He was right about a lot of things, and some claims he was wrong about.
