If one argues that we shouldn't expect high ethical standards from WRITERS, another can argue that it is unrealistic to expect high ethical standards from ANYONE then. Since we are in some way beholden to someone. Our present crop of writers are not the first to have written
Writers like Okigbo, Achebe, Soyinka have acted as the moral conscience of their times. No we don't expect this of them because they are writers. We expect this of them because they are humans whose occupation carries influence.

Talks about revitalizing "literary spaces" are mildly amusing. What is a "literary space"? "literary space" in what sense? "Literary sphere"? How did this space die? How are schools (Primary/Secondary/University) in Kaduna state faring? Are we really interested in revitalizing?
