[saying this as a fat person w/body dysmorphia]

A lot of times when people say they have “body dysmorphia,” it often seems capable of being translated as “I really hate [my] fatness.” And they should be more intentional about naming that instead.
Covering up your anti-fatness with legitimate medical terms/conditions only seeks to legitimize your fat hate under the guise of disability. This is not only fatphobic, but also deeply ableist.
But anyway, that’s a conversation for another day. I published a piece that I’m very proud of today, so imma focus on that.
