The cascading Elephant Falls is the first stop after Shillong to cherrapunjee. A visit by @narendramodi has made this not very famous place Very Famous. Thank God they still call it Elephant Falls, Not Modi Falls or something 😉

There is this place “Mawphlang Sacred Grooves”, a sacred forest for people of Meghalaya. It is not allowed to take away even a single leaf from the forest or break a single twig in it.

Midday quick lunch at Mawkdok Dympep Valley, the entry to Cherrapunjee. A little climb down till the view point has spectacular views of the valley.
On the way back, same place is filled with clouds and resembled a mystic kingdom.

Seven waterfalls!! All different types in just one place. So damn peaceful place. Thats Laitmawsiang for you. Also known as the Garden of Caves.

The finest example of ancient engineering of Khasi Tribe of Meghalaya is the “Living Root Bridges” of Cherrapunjee. The roots of the trees are arranged and as they grow stronger they serve as bridges to cross streams. Brilliant !!

Meghalaya is all about waterfalls. From the very famous Seven sister falls to Nohkalkhai falls or some random big falls on the way, there are plenty.
On that day we started to calculate and no reached 33 in 2 hours before I stopped counting
