Alright fam, since bar results are starting to come out, here's a quick thread - if you fail, you can still be a successful lawyer. 1/n
While I don't like to advertise it, I failed the bar the first time around. I had always been good at testing, didn't put in enough effort, and a couple topics I was woefully unprepared for showed up (looking at you Secured Transactions). 2/n
It was not a fun time. My grandmother also passed away shortly after I found out. So she never got to see me be a lawyer. But I buckled down and studied hard and next February, I passed. 3/n
I have been practicing law for over 9 years, I have argued in front of the Ninth Circuit and just filed two amicus briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court. I have a pretty good record at my day job and am regularly recognized by my client for my work. 4/n
So yes - failing can be humilating and embarassing, it can make you question yourself and your worth. But it does not define you and it need not define your career. That's all I got. 5/5.
Since this thread is blowing up a bit, let me just say - if you find yourself in my position, and need to talk, my DMs are open.
