if god is good, why is there evil?
what is evil? it is something non-tangible. if a cloth has a hole, the hole represents the absence of cloth. therefore, evil is the absence of good.
is god good if he allows the absence of good (evil)? if god is merciful and forgiving, why is there hell?
is hell even real? or is it a concept set upon religions and beliefs to set the fear that if they deviate from the norms — the 'good' — and disrupt the harmony in the physical world, then there is a divine and eternal consequence they will face.
what are norms? norms set uniformity in our world to lessen the chaos and create harmony. if we use our free will to its fullest without taking into consideration the norms and serve for our personal satisfaction, then it may be good for us, but evil for others.
but we can agree that freedom is good. if freedom is good and freedom can be related to free will, is being limited by the norms bad?
what if . there really isnt evil . and the concept of evil is the only thing evil because it makes us believe that there is evil and hinders us from seeing the good that births from the circumstances that aren't in favor for us?
what if the only reason there is evil ... is because we believe there is evil........but we refuse to see that because we were so used to the age-old belief that there is evil?
god is good for giving us the free will, and we,,, in religious context,,, were made from the image and likeness of god as stated in theology,,,
not to sound like a christian but !! maybe there is evil bc we refuse to acknowledge god in our lives, and therefore there is no good (and only evil).... there is a void in our "goodness" because we shun the idea of a god, which is supposed to be what we aim to emulate
if we refuse to acknowledge there is a god, we then eliminate the standard of good we follow. and then it decreases the value we see in ourselves, and in turn, we lower the value we see in others. bc there is no god in me, you, everyone. we refuse then to respect each other
EW THAT SOUNDS SO CHRISTIAN-Y
nvm the previous tweets . anw god gave us free will and that free will is what led us to do "evil". it even is the thing that made the ancient people to create norms,,, to create the concept of evil, even.......
god is good, yes. men are,,, curious by nature and it is innate in us to question everything.... even i, rn, am questioning a lot of things like this whole thread for example. .... so when eve took the forbidden fruit to k n o w what it feels like to be at par with god,,, yes.
so then if we were made to be innately curious and that forbidden fruit is r i g h t t h e r e and we were given the free will,,,, maybe men are not evil. god is good but maybe he was t o o good to give us the capabilities to do these ???
is god even real or is he an intangible concept as well? if he is the latter,,, what causes good, what causes evil? is it the norms? are the norms the ones dictating the what is good and evil?
doesnt the norms change over time ,, so then, is there no absolute truth on what is good and evil? is it all abt perception ..!
((no h help me i can't sleep too much ccoffee))
