if we are constrained to having handguns and shotguns and hunting rifles we are inherently going to lose to an armed force equipped with automatic weapons, not to mention the huge amount of multi-million-dollar tech the usaf has access too and we as civilians do not. (2/?)

the solution to mass shootings is not weaponry restriction. make the process of purchasing and owning a gun way more rigorous. background checks, yes, but also psychological evaluations, serious multi-week training, higher age restrictions, annual check-ins, etc. (3/?)

i want to own a gun, i have for a very long time, and i would absolutely allow myself to be subjected to psychological testing by a professional, serious in-depth background checks, and other safety measures before purchasing one. (5/?)

i'm 19 and i probably shouldn't be allowed to own a lethal weapon until 25. in my state i can get a concealed carry license in a year and 2 months with a cursory background check, maybe a drug test, and about 20 bucks. that is the unacceptable part of gun legislation. (5/?)

anyone who is determined to kill people because of evil, bigotry, mental illness, what have you, is going to find a way to do it. we as a society have constantly invented easier and easier means of killing more and more people. why not restrict access to weapons period?

"why would a civilian need an AR-15?" if /pol/ and alt-righters and ethnostate advocated and racists and bigots elect their candidate (who has already displayed bigotry and idiocy) and that man takes his views and beliefs to the next level, how do we stop his military?

the french militia during ww2 used contemporary weapons, some scrounged from dead nazis but others just owned by civilians, to conduct successful guerilla warfare against the largest tyranny known to modern man and keep hope and freedom alive under occupation.

our country currently houses concentration camps of non-white men women and children. our president has gone beyond dogwhistling to actual racist rhetoric. his supporters include david duke and the leaders of other bigotry groups. neonazism as a future is not nonsensical.

so in that case, if our country goes to shit and they start rounding up all the non-white people? id prefer to have the same weapons as the military rounding them up, but in the hands of sane, rational, well-trained people who will use them WHEN NECESSARY.
