ok let's start with the most basic among all the problems in my country: the news system

the news channels give more highlight and importance to showbiz industry tea that they put it at the end of the show. ill give the reasons below as to why i think they do so:
a. the more ppl are interested in it, the more the ratings go up. and if they put it at the end of the news show, more ppl anticipate as they wait

b. they're to cover up the political shit that the country has. this way, the news ends up on a more lighter note
but THAT'S the problem with it!! ph people turn satirical (tho it's a good way to voice out their concerns abt the ph govt) BECAUSE the news make it seem like ph political problems are lighter than showbiz problems!! notice how other countries dont even show showbiz news for NEWS
notice how other countries s o m e h o w manage to just slip in the showbiz stuff in the middle so that it's not highlighted nor ignored, and it doesnt overshadow things that should be really focused on
i know that filipinos just want to not focus on bad things and drown in the negative stuff BUT IT'S REALITY . REALITY THAT WE. HAVE. TO. FACE. AND. GIVE. IMPORTANCE. TO. that's why it's ignored and taken lightly because we choose to IGNORE it and bury it in showbiz CRAP.

issue #2: vote based on publicity

this is a very very recent issue ive been thinking about ever since it happened.

during the senatorial elections this 2019, a lot of people were hoping and believing di*kno, g*toc, c*lm*nares, h*lbay, and maybe t*nada to win
but that's only because they were the ones trending on twitter, facebook, and even instagram, aka the platform where teenagers can see and share information about the candidates and discuss the pros and cons of these senatorial hopefuls
what about the elders? there are a lot of elders who voted and wouldnt be able to know how to see these discussion threads and compare all the candidates
when they watch the news and see that these mentioned candidates above are the most talked about when they watch the news, they'd probably think "whomstd've?" and we know most, if not all, elders in the ph are not really open to changes so they only stick to who they already know
that gives v*llar, p*e, c*yet*no, ang*ra, aqu*no, r*xas, and uh, ,,, ,, maybe d*la r*sa the advantage bc thats who the people have heard already and seen in politics
they don't know who these "otso diretso" people are, and what they could(ve) offer(ed) the philippines.
and in line with what i was saying in my first issue, showbiz people are given the spotlight in news, giving them more (excessive and unecessary, even) fame and influence than what they have. that gives actors who (god help me) probably know little-to-nothing about good politics
there was one time an interviewer asked citizens who they wanted to vote and why, and an old woman literally said (non-verbatim) "i will vote for r*villa, because he is handsome" ?????? since WHEN did we need LOOKS in POLITICS???
and related again to my first point, the news systems make political news look like they're light. we can see candidates who were literally involved with a lot of cases, directly or indirectly, AND PEOPLE EVEN VOTED FOR THEM. ALL OF THEM. IN THE FINAL LIST OF 2019 SENATORS.
rather than to j u s t tweet and post abt people who actually deserve the position, i think next time we should start with our own homes and inform relatives abt who we think should be better.

even if they dont agree with you with everything, at least they have insights abt most
