So where am I going with this? It was sunny during Taki and Mitsuha's reunion in 2022. However, it should have never stopped raining from 2021~2024.

Here's what I think:
The reunion in Your Name shows the timeline where Hodaka decided to accept Hina's sacrifice for the greater good. What we see in Weathering With You is the alternate timeline where we see Hodaka making the selfish decision.

Imagine being happy about Taki and Mitsuha's reunion without knowing that there's a girl up in the sky who sacrificed herself. Think of a grieving Nagi and Hodaka who had to accept Hina's sacrifice without anyone else knowing about it.

No definite proof, but most likely they got married on or before 2024. The novel (untranslated) says that Tachibana Tomi's room was decorated with pictures of her grandson's (Taki?) wedding.

For people who can rewatch the movie: During the scene when Hodaka visits again after 3 years, please look at Taki's grandmother's wrist if she's wearing a red bracelet. The kind that Mitsuha's family makes. It should prove that Taki and Mitsuha do still meet again!

Just rewatched the movie. Can confirm Taki's grandmother wearing a red bracelet. Very subtle. Shown only for a few secs on her right wrist when she's giving Hodaka something. Pretty solid proof of Taki and Mitsuha's reunion even with all the rain!
