The gop is allegedly all about free markets; customers decide, gov. stays out of the way. Yet, because of the electoral college & 2 senator system, votes mean less for people choosing to live in certain cities/ states & they get less representation per capita.

In a #truedemocracy, 2 things would happen:
-EC would end. Voter knowledge & participation would grow because EVERYONE'S vote would count.
-Each state would get 1, 2 or 3 Senators based on population; still totaling 100. Small states still get representation but not like now.

Example:
CA has 40M people while ND only has 760k yet they both currently get 2 senators. CA 1 per 20M. ND 1 per 380k.
New system would give CA 3 & ND 1.This gives ND 1 senator per 760K people while giving CA 1 senator per 16.6M. Still skewed to the smaller states but fairer

"But the constitution.."It can be amended. A democracy is not a #truedemocracy when votes can be rendered meaningless based on where someone chooses to live. The gop will never do this. They lost the popular vote 6 of the last 7 times. Dems, when you get the power, make it happen.
Another way to look at it:
Presidency- Not based on popular vote
Senate- Not based on number of citizens
House- Proportionate
Meaning the majority, two thirds, of our government is not based on the will of the people.
This must change.
