Because with everything in one source, you can easily compare different bits of knowledge, flip through and revisit. That seems to be the appeal of note-compilation services like Evernote, Roam, Notion; what they're trying to replicate, almost.
One of the reasons I do want to upgrade/find a better system of collation and information management is because I'm consciously trying to learn a modicum of many different subjects (not to the exclusion, ofc —not intentionally, anyway— of depth in some areas)
