Finally beginning my journey through Halo MCC Solo Legendary All Skulls On.

Beginning with Tayari plaza. Gotten past the first set of enemies so far.
I'm doing the save-scumming trick and the tape-on-the-tv trick. Both help considerably. Life is still hell.
Finished Tayari Plaza. Hardest part was getting to the sniper tower for sure. The rest after that was just a patience game. Shouldn't be too too bad from here until Data Hive.

Uplift Reserve is next.
Uplift Reserve was easy as usual. Just had to get out of the ghost a few time for health.
Kizingo Boulevard was easily the hardest so far. Took me 1h 19m 26s to beat. Only died like twice in the final standoff surprisingly. Mainly hid by the area entrance and let Dutch do all the work with a fuel rod.
ONI Alpha Site was surprisingly easy. Like I remember my first solo legendary run of it giving me more trouble than this SLASO run funnily enough. Just decked out the marines with Splasers and gave Mickey a rocket and hung back for most of it.
30m 47s. Think I only died 3 times.
NMPD HQ

Seemed hard when I was trying to speed through it. Ended up giving up on that since I couldn't get a single checkpoint after the first and just restarted and killed everything. Only took 31m 48s, and no deaths. Rather impressed with that ngl.
Kikowani Station. Apart from the start of it taking a bit longer to get into the banshee it was essentially just a regular legendary run. Died twice during it.

Data Hive is next and this is where it gets tough...
24m 31s so I guess "a bit longer" is an understatement.
1h and 6m of dodging friendly grenades. Data Hive wasn't as rough as I thought but it was still the hardest so far. First bit was a bit easier on me since the cop came to the next level since I got all the audio logs. Coastal Highway... Please be gentle...
Safety Not Garunteed GET!

Coastal Highway can be summarized as
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
for most of it. The beginning is skippable, the ending is laughable, but holy fuck that highway was cancer. I actually did the hardest parts faster than I expected to but still fuck.
Next up... Halo 4.
Finished Dawn. Jfc this is a lot tougher than ODST so far. Since the plasma pistol is a piece of junk elites are rather rediculous.
Beat Requiem. That was a trial of patience. The difficulty stemmed from the same things that made Dawn difficult, that being the elites. Carbines made them much more doable. Despawns allowed for the first like 3rd to go by easily. Took a couple hours.
Infinity was 10x harder on LASO than anything I've done yet. The main issues were getting to the holdout door, then the area after the hold out door. I probably spent an hour on a single checkpoint in that latter area, it was insane. Everything afterthat ezpz.
Did the despawn trick at the start of the ship area and never died once after that.
That area where the two battlewagons spawned before that, though. I had maybe 20 DMR shots, 6 light rifle shots, no shields, 4 grunts that would suicide rush, the battlewagons that would rush, and the watcher that would revive them all at once. Absolute hell.
Requiem was as easy as it always is. Well okay I had to mildly deviate from regular speedrun strats at the start and at the end but until the end I didn't even need to kill anyone so yeah ezpz.

Shutdown is next, luckily 2/3rds of it is skippable.
Sorry not Requiem, Reclaimer.
Beat Shutdown in 9m 14s. For reference, my best run on vanilla legendary is 7m 59s. Just goes to show how easy this level is, I didn't even bother with the tape.
Otherwise did the standard skip at the start. Did the bounce off the forklift. Hunters were a pain due to Mythic. Learned how stupid sword elites are in this game as well, they're like the halo 3 brute chieftains. So easy. Final fight is easy but long. 1h 15m 24s.
Midnight
THOSE SEVEN FUCKING KNIGHTS CAN GO FUCK THEMSELVES. Probably the second hardest LASO moment so far, the first being right before you get the tank in Forerunner. Looked like a 3D render pf the Utsuho fight from Subterranean Animism with the amount of pulse grenades.
Took like 3 hours but with that Halo 4 SLASO is finished. After I kill the rest of the watchers I need for that achievement, its off to Halo 3.
God damn that 0.05% feels good.
So we're finally starting Halo 3.

Sierra 117.
Not much to say really, it was a pretty straight forward run. No single part got the better of me, just took it mostly slow. Across 2 sittings it took about 40min.
Sorry forgot the Maki.
Crow's Nest had multiple points that drove me insane. The holdout in the hangar took me a while at the end since the BR ammo flew away somewhere. The jetpack brutes section had my hammer glitching out, wouldn't work at times or make sound real annoying. In between parts were ezpz
Took like 2-3 hours.
So Tsavo Highway was easy up until the very end. I got caught with no shields on a checkpoint where I was sorta pinned. Took me several tries to re-enter the Chopper I had to leave prior to the checkpoint as 1 shot from a carbine would kill me.
From that point on it became me shooting brutes with the Chopper from a distance. They all died within like 10 minutes but the chieftain wouldn't fall. He had so much damn health. Constant of Chopper fire, probs 200ish BR rounds, and then 6 sniper shots with 1 extra BR shot.
Getting there took about 15min, doing that took about an hour. Could have been easier if I didn't attempt that glitch that ends the level quicker and stayed in the Chopper.
Beat the Storm. Hmmm... Maybe the hardest H3 LASO so far? Its between that and Crow's Nest but the part with the AA wraith and the regular wraith took me a long while. Scarac only took a while because I'm retarded and was using the lift wrong. Despawned at end. 53min.
So far I'd say that I disagree that H3 is harder than H4. I feel like I might take that back during the last 4 levels though. Floodgate is next and should be easy.
And easy it was. Floodgate took less than 10 minutes. Didn't really differ from a speedrun of it.
Only 21 seconds longer than my best legendary time.
Starting The Ark now. Long level so I'll tweet the progress in chunks.
Got past the first two areas. First one took a few tries, second only took 3. At the part with the two Crawlers now.
I'm a fucking retard and let it reset god damn it. Time to restart.
Alright so I got up to near the end. Just need to kill the chieftain and his pack as well as go through the two rooms before that. Ran out of time for today so will do it another day.
Finished The Arc. The turret brute and the room after with camo brutes gave me a lot of trouble but I eventually passed them. Used camo to assassinate the jackals. Slpwly took down the brute squad in one try. Hardest level yet for Halo 3,Forerunner still has it topped though.
The Covenant was... Easy. And I don't know why. I only died like 3 times and it only took an hour and a half. I went slow for all vehicle sections and the two parts that normally give me heck on speedruns were weirdly easy this time. Forerunner is still top dog by far.
Cortana was also not that bad, but had a slew of annoying checkpoints. Blackeye probably works in your favour here since you can mostly just run through the whole level with a sword and a couple well timed camos. 30 minutes, Halo is all that remains.
I did it my fellow kings. Halo (the level) wasn't hard at all. Spark had the ability to instakill you which was a pain but didn't take me too many tries. Climb up the tower via nade jump and holdout was easy. Warthog run was easy.

This game as a whole was easier than 4.
Like, the only hard part was The Ark. And that didn't hold up to how difficult Forerunner was. I'm on the fence if I wanna do Halo CE or wait for Reach. I think I'll probably wait and take a break here, then get Reach speedrunned then LASOd.
Been a while but here's a non-LASO update, got the under 3 hour achievement in Reach. Final time was 2h 55m 57s.
Individual times:

WC: 13:41
OSB: 14:09
NF: 5:21
TotS: 14:13
LNoS: 36:54
Exodus: 22:01
NA: 17:18
TP: 27:18
tPoA: 24:57
The 150k Lone Wolf achievement is dumb and gay so I'm doing LASO now.

Winter Contingency was easy. Makes me think most of this game will be easy. Died a couple times to plasma grenades and I ran off a cliff like an idiot once.
Alright so ONI: Sword Base was time consuming af. Used a wraith for most of it and it was a game of hoping the shots land. As soon as I got back into the base everything went quickly. Took a good few hours.
And I forgot to send that last tweet so here's that and Nightfalls. It was Nightfall, I ran past people and glitched through a door with a forklift we know how this game works. 8 minutes.
Not much to say about Tip of the Spear either. Took an hour, only annoying parts were hunters and the following falcon ride because my shields were low.
As expected Long Night of Solace, it was rough. I think Tilt was making the Seraphs take longer to kill me since I died way less during that part thab regular legendary. The banshee launch bay was a decent hiding spot too. Took like 2 hours.
Exodus was generally easy. Wasn't stuck on any part for too long, pretty much each part took me 2-3 tries. Took about an hour.
And thats Reach! Gotta say it was way easier than I thought it would be. Probably would go easiest to hardest
ODST>Reach>3>4
1 and 2 are all that remain.
Fuck you 343 this one was just rude. Not making you buy 4 controllers rude but still pretty rude. 1h 21m for my successful attempt, probably close to 6 or 7 hours when including my failed ones. I never wanna play Lone Wolf again.
Alrighty then back to work with this. Still playing with a controller but running it on PC now. Don't wanna say I "did CE LASO" while not having suffered the controller without aim assist.
Anyway beat Pillar of Autumn. Yeah, this is going to be frustrating. I don't forsee many issues with Halo but T&R is going to be a bitch. With probably top Forerunner for hardest level.
Halo was pretty easy. First bit was a patience game of slowly taking out the dropships. Second half was business as usual. Kill first two groups of marines then use sniperbro to fight the third.
This. Fucking. Bullshit.

Easily the hardest LASO level so far. Dont believe the lies of the tomer. This shit took me all fucking day. That gravity lift room was rediculous. I am keeping to my word and doing this with a controller, and my God this is hell.
Fuck you T&R. I'm going to The Silent Cartographer and I'm going to ENJOY EVERY PISTOL SHOT.
For those who don't know what CE LASO is like, controller auto aim is turned off, every shot takes 2 rounds, and you can't use covenant weapons. Combine this with all the other regular LASO things, its maddening. And Halo 2 blows it out of the water. Least there's no blind skull.
Okay so did both The Silent Cartographer and Assault on the Control Room. Silent was fairly simple, made use of the infinite rockets to get through the last bit of it. Rest was pretty easy.

Assault I actually beat my Legendary speed run best time by almost 5 minutes.
Used the banshee grab trick which took me HOURS and even then I think I just got lucky. Moved the wrong way avoiding a grunt explosion and it somehow worked doing that rather than doing the steps laid out in @HaloCompletion's guide but hey man thanks anyways lol.
