Kim Hongjoong, a 21 year old leader of ATEEZ, is not only an idol who just raps and compose songs but he is also an activist who has been actively supporting campaigns over the past months namely; Polished Man, Dear Heart, Remember Sewol and Happy Hippie Ring
Polished Man is a campaign that raises awareness about the importance of ending violence against children which the one painted nail represents 1/5 children who experience violence. Yunho also joined the campaign after Hongjoong explained the purpose of pinky nail polish to him.
The red string bracelet is a project by MOREE called “Dear Heart” for children with heart diseases and all proceeds from the sale of the bracelet will go to the Korea Heart Foundation to help them.
He's been wearing the yellow "REMEMBER 20140416" wristband campaign since debut to remember MV Sewol tragedy which happened on the 16th April, 2014. In his reforms, he always make sure to draw the yellow ribbon to show support for the families who lost their children.
He also wore a Happy Hippie Ring that supports the Happy Hippie Foundation for the homeless and LGBTQ youth.
It's pretty rare to find an idol who participates in campaigns to support like this which is the reason why I respect him a lot not only for being a great artist but also for being a man with a huge heart who would find ways to help and show support even in the littlest things
These may not be seen as an important thing to the public eye but for me, these little things he do can make a huge difference in the long run. He is really thoughtful and compassionate and I hope he knows how lucky we are to have someone like him in this world.
