The YouTube malicious tweets are going around again via DM. Do NOT open them. Tell those who send the messages they are compromised and secure your account!

More on this further in this thread. 👇
2nd step is to setup 2FA (2-factor authentication) so that if someone steals your password or gains access to your e-mail (so that they can reset it) that your account is not stolen.

SMS messages can be intercepted, using a 2FA app (like Authy) is best. https://authy.com/guides/twitter/
3rd step is to *STOP* using the Twitter app and convert to using a web browser. I recommend using Firefox (even on mobile). On Android Firefox is almost the same as the desktop version (in that you can use helpful and secure plug-ins). Don't save your PW. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
4th step is to setup adblocking using a plug-in in Firefox. I recommend uBlock Origin. Install it and subscribe to all of the lists (except the international ones).

This helps to block a lot of advertising and malicious content! https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
5th step is to consider using DNS servers that support DNS-over-TLS and DNS blacklisting of malicious websites. This adds a further layer on top of uBlock Origin. This is easiest to achieve on a computer (vs mobile). I recommend Quad 9 for DNS. It's free. https://www.quad9.net/
6th step is to ensure that you are keeping your devices up to date! Always install the latest security updates for your phone and computer ASAP!

The same is true for your apps, like Firefox! Make sure everything is up to date.

Don't install stuff you don't trust either.
8th step is to change your Twitter account password. Use something secure! I'd recommend more than 24 characters personally. If you have trouble tracking passwords, consider using a password manager.

*DO NOT* use the same password on multiple sites! That weakens your security.
9th step is to add two factor authentication to your Google account because the YouTube malware link is targeting that and others may as well.

It's not hard to setup and secures your account against a number of attack vectors.

Also don't stay logged in.

10th step is to consider purchasing high quality anti-malware software like Malwarebytes Premium from @Malwarebytes.

They have an excellent product and it is easily the best for securing Windows and Mac computers from most malware threats.
