Here’s a thread of some insane stuff that happened in college football’s 2007 season:
•App State beats Michigan at the Big House
• #2 USC lost to Stanford as a 39pt favorite
• #1 LSU loses in 3OT’s to Kentucky
• #2 Cal loses to Oregon State
• #2 USF loses to Rutgers
•USF was ranked 2 in the first place
• #2 Boston College loses to unranked Florida State
• #1 Ohio State loses to Illinois
• #2 Oregon loses to Arizona
• #1 LSU loses in 3OT’s AGAIN but this time to Arkansas (then Houston Nutt leaves a few days later)
• #2 Kansas (yes, that Kansas) loses to Missouri
• #1 Missouri loses to Oklahoma and #2 West Virginia loses to an awful Pitt team both one step away from the national championship
• Oklahoma lost 3 separate times while being ranked #3
• #4 Florida lost to Auburn
• A two loss national champion was crowned in LSU but was actually undefeated in regulation
• #5 in the country lost on four separate occasions
• The Auburn team that beat Florida lost to USF at home
• A team ranked 5-25 lost to an unranked team at least once
• ULM beat Bama
•Rutgers was ranked #10
•Kentucky cracked the top 10
•Hawaii was undefeated and in the top 10
•17 different schools ranked in the top 5
• Miami(FL) was not ranked a single week
• The Mike Gundy rant happened
• Navy beat Norte Dame for the first time in 43 years
•Jimbo Fisher was almost the head coach at UAB
• Miami, Notre Dame and Nebraska all went 3-9
• 24 FBS teams had new head coaches
• A sophomore QB on a 9-4 team won the heisman (the name is slipping me now)
•Arkansas introduced the wildcat
• KANSAS & MISSOURI WAS #1 vs #2
•Florida State’s entire season on paper no longer exists due to forfeits.
•3 of the highest scoring games of all time happened in the same seaon: Weber State 73, Portland State 68
Navy 74, North Texas 62
Boise State 69, Nevada 67 in 4OT
