Watching old eps of Gamesmaster. How did the Sega Action Chair pass me by?
As a kid I didn't appreciate how many joy stick based knob gags Dominik Diamond was doing per episode.
Pat Sharp has turned up in a Naf Naf jumper. Maximum 90s.
Someone just mentioned Rumbelows
Day two of my Gamesmaster binge and I am onto the second series. First celeb guest is Tony Slattery. I am so happy back here in the 90s.
Kid in the Consoletation zone asking how to find the blue switch palace in Super Mario. Dear me. I found ALL of them on my own. And Star Road.
Well this was an unexpected Consoletation zone visitor
Gordon Burns playing Blastris with a scope gun. Great days.
The joystick cap passed me by at the time
We have now reached...the Dexter Fletcher series đŸ˜±
They keep saying "never bet on a girl" when a female competitor comes on. Forgot about that part of growing up in the 80s and 90s, through all the nostalgia.
Fletcher's reign was really laddish and shouty. Interesting to watch this retrospectively. Can see why ladettes came about. Feeling the need to be like blokes to keep up, because being a girl was rubbish.
Halfway through series four now and Diamond is on top snark form. Have been living for his sarky intros of Dave Berry today. Then found out they culminate in something called The Dave Perry Super Mario 64 Incident.
Annoying to have to stop the binge watch build up to said incident and go to bed for work in the morning but it gives me something to look forward to.
Finished season four and approaching the incident. Noticing a precursor of mild teasing in the run up. Diamond is nicknaming him each ep. Champ and Skipper so far.
Now "the professor"
Perry is trying to carry on the games commentary and pretend not to notice but he has an angry face.
Then Ace and also Boss. It's bubbling.
This series was definitely the best. I'm pretty sure it's the one Lee and Herring turn up on.
And this baby play off was ace
Have resumed after a long pause. The N64 has just been launched which means we are very close to the incident.
It was so funny and non patronising. To kick off this challenge Dominik Diamond asked the kid "So what do you get up to when you're not playing businessmen at Doom?"
I have reached the Lee and Herring ep❀
And now I have reached the Perry incident episode 👀
God that was awkward
He's back for the contractually obligated rest of the series. Dominik just asked if Die Hard was based on his life.
Paul McKenna failed the challenge but still got a golden joystick, courtesy of a hypnotism bit.
