+as he was. He has the ability to blend into any team he plays with. He can bring out the very best in every single spiker that he sets to. How many people can do that? let alone as quickly and efficiently as he does?? He knows which sets are better for which spiker and he knows+
+all his teammates’ best abilities. he knows how to bring out the absolute best in anyone he sets to. Even people who don’t play with him regularly, he doesn’t take that much time to analyse them and then adjust his playing to make them better +
+ and on top of all this, he is the captain. He is the captain of, again, one of the TOP FOUR powerhouse scool teams. Not only is he the best setter, but he is one of the best captains i’ve ever fucking seen. He constantly motivates his team members and helps their minds stay +
+ in the match. He’s constantly keeping their spirits up and their minds clear and focused. He knows where and when to push them and exactly how hard to push. idk about y’all, but that’s fucking incredible.

+ his team and the volleyball community as a whole. He has been throwing himself way beyond all his limits over and over again ever since middle school. He pushed and worked and trained so fucking hard and so consistently that he managed to land himself in a knee brace like??? +
+ and yet despite all of this, him and his team never went to nationals. No matter how perfect a setter and captain he was, no matter how fucking hard he worked, no matter how good and stable Aoba Johsai was overall, they NEVER made it to nationals, their ultimate dream. +
+toorus only dream was to take his team to nationals + he spent every moment working painfully towards that goal, + he never made it. not even once. + if you still don’t think he is the saddest character who is the most deserving of respect and appreciation, then get out.
