police have raised the red flag in yuen long - at protesters angry at their lack of response at thugs beating ppl up

Now TV says police are stationed near the entrance to the village where the white shirt thugs have run to, Nam Pin Wai

lawmaker Lam Cheuk Ting who was beaten by thugs giving a presser in hospital. he said he was aware of reports thru the night that triads were amassing in YL to take action against protesters and decided to head there. this has been flagged for HOURS before the attacks.

lawmaker Lam: saw thugs beating up casual passers by and protesters with long wooden sticks in MTR station. and then they pushed thru the turnstiles and chased him and other civilians who were running away

Now TV: police ATTEMPTED to enter the village as 2-300 white shirt thugs still hanging around holding weapons. getting aggressive when reporters approach and throw bottles at them. said reporters can’t enter the village.

i’m just watching the tv camera zooming in on the thugs from afar and police have even retreated back outside the entrance to the village

Now TV estimates about 100 riot police stationed OUTSIDE the village where the thugs are hiding

this screen clearly shows police are nowhere near the thugs’ village

just as a bit of context this is where the thugs are hiding out (not in the public toilet but in that village)

meanwhile a group of ppl are amassing outside Tin Shui Wai police station where the gate is closed - saw reports earlier that the thugs had entered that area too

Now TV says one of its journalists was beaten up by the thugs

Now TV: “we don’t know why police haven’t tried to re-enter the village.” and the number of police guarding the entrance to the village has “clearly” decreased.

hours after firing tear gas and rubber bullets in hk island at protesters, police can’t or won’t enter a village where hundreds of armed thugs are hanging out

just want to emphasise that police left the thugs in the village 40 mins ago and haven’t returned

was about to call it a night but something provoked the thugs and now they’re running out of their village with weapons

update this AM: police made no arrests in Yuen Long, said just bc someone was wearing white doesn’t mean they were involved in beating ppl up

36 ppl were injured in yuen long, 1 in critical condition. among those injured were @galileocheng who is now tweeting about what happened during the attacks and in the hospital.
